Anyone interested in a track day/evening? It would be cool to get some people together (the more the better) to run our 3\'s down the track.

Post up if you would be interested.

What type of track? Drag, or circuit?

I\'d be interested in a Mazda3-only track day at Shannonville. We\'d need about 15-20 cars to get a reasonable price.

I\'m cool with either really... Drag would be fun, as would circuit.

Edit: Getting 15 to 20 cars wouldn\'t be a problem.

Can I get a lift with someone? I\'m not really interested in getting on the track, especially after Warren\'t brush with the infield, but I wouldn\'t mind taking pictures...if it isn\'t raining.

Blunt,

If you can\'t get a lift, you can ride in with me.

i don\'t think i\'m ready to take my car to the track.....but i\'d love to join and watch.....

if you guys go somewhere close by like mosport (i doubt cuz it cost too much) or Cayuga (nice and close), i\'ll come along...shanny is too far to drive just to watch....

is cayuga still running the circuit for cars? i know they banned motorcycles, i never even got to try it....i hear its pretty nice....

As the ottawa group knows already, I\'d be interested in a Drag day.... wouldn\'t mind working on my launch to try and beat my old times :P

I\'ll run up against you. What are your times?

Best: 17.373

In order from first run to last (5th run):
17.423 @ 80.423 MPH
17.373 @ 80.650 MPH
17.991 @ 78.870 MPH*
17.596 @ 78.875 MPH*
17.881 @ 79.611 MPH*

Don\'t forget, I have a totally stock 2.3L with an automatic tranny.

The * means that I did a major screw up on the launch :p it was my first time on the drag strip.

The was a 2.3L with MTX there, averaged 0.4 seconds faster. Best time posted with the MTX was 16.4 seconds. But her launches weren\'t the best either, as it was her first time.

justin: I\'d be no challange to you :p You already have an advantage because you have performace mods. Having an MTX would be enough of an advantage to beat me anyways.

Friday night might be tricky as most people are tired from the week and probably won\'t want to drive all the way out there. I\'m thinking a weekend day like Sat or Sun would be a good idea, gives people more time to relax and enjoy the cruise, and would encourage more people to come out.

Edit: I say the 19th of August would be a good day.

i dunno if it goes the same for cars as it is for bikes....weekends costs a lot more than weekdays/weeknights....

my friend one time booked shannonville nelson for like a ridiculous low price on a weeknight...from like 5 till like about 8:00-9:00ish or when the sun set....and it was very cheap, he had about 20 ppl and worked out to like less than $100/person....like $60-80

MOM is also that weekend, I say if we do it, we do it on a weekend that has nothing planned already...

i think friday nights at cayuga are the cheapest run nights!
and i can\'t go on a weekend day, at least not early!

we are not gonna rent the track out!

unless by some miracle we get a lot of cars!

maybe that weekend is a bad idea cause of mom
so maybe the next one!

how far is it? I\'ll come out for the cruise in and out and to watch.. :)
I don\'t know about dragging my stock car.

I think a drag could include more members than a track day since its easier to bump or scrape the car around a track. I\'m down for a circuit eventually, but right now I\'d prefer a drag, depending on price and location.

cayuga is near hamiliton
after the skyway bridge
you take an exit (soon after)
and then follow that street awhile to cayuga
i will get directions later as well

i am not sure about the price either
i think it is 20??

LOL I\'m pretty sure you aren\'t as inexperienced with driving as I am :D
