How much SPAM do you get via e-mail?

I have a total of three e-mail addresses I use with any regularity (two personal and one for work) and between all three I\'d say I get at least 15-20 a day. It\'s really starting to piss me off. The worst part is that I know where some of it is coming from......builders. When a new home or condo project is coming out that my wife and I are interested in we will register using one of our two accounts and use initials only. A few weeks later we start getting spam addressed to the initials.

maybe you should start giving crap to those builders.. and report them.. or at least tell them you\'re going to report them.. that may scare them a bit..

I rarely ever give out email info on the web, even typing it in a search page will place your email address on distribution lists. Make it a habit of only using your email on secure websites. =D

For anything else, just create 1 garbage email address you can use if you must enter a email address for whatever reason.

having said that.. i still get spam but GMAIL and my host are quite good at filtering the shit..

I work at a large canadian organization and have access to the stats on the mail server. Over 80% of the mail we receive from the Internet is filtered OUT as SPAM - and we have set our filters to be very relaxed, defaulting to delivering messages if there is any doubt.
