Today is a sad day, my 3 got hit on the passenger side. I have taken it to the dealership for them to fix it. The body specialist estimate\'s that it is about $5k worth of body damage, plus there might be some mechanical damage! I am going to go and take some pictures and post them. The car is at KC Auto Service on Heritage in Markham. Has anyone dealt with this body shop?

I was suprised at the chunk that came off the rim. I hope that it drives and looks like it used to when all is fixed!

Yeah I can see it now front control arm, knuckle, driveshaft, the sweet spot where the plastic power steering pump is. I\'m thinking now $5,000 +.

I was heading eastbound on Denison near Kennedy and a meat truck decided to change lanes without looking, before I knew it, BAM! ZAP! BANG! I got out of my car and asked the guy what he was doing, he said \"I had my indicator on\"??? But he failed to look beside him...I had the car towed to Markham Mazda and they had a guy from the body shop they deal with, come and look at it. He said apprx. $5k in body damage, not including any mechanical damage. I just hope that it drives like it used to. I figured that I would have Mazda work on the mechanics just in case there are any issues down the road, then I can say that they worked on it.

I believe \"Skarbro\" is an underwriter to the insurance company. He might be able to answer your question.

If it\'s not your fault, you don\'t have to pay any deductible. You should also get rental free. Since it\'s free to you, you should get it fixed with the dealer.

Do your best to stay on top of the repairs. I had my previous car (shhh, Jetta) hit and run in my work parking lot, and ended up being lied to by the shop saying the replacement parts were all oem (wind noise and shoddy work resulted).
Long story short, try to find a reputable shop and STAY ON THEM!!!

Holy CRAP.... That\'s serious man.... getting hit by a truck...
That almost happened to me yesterday, this huge flatbed just decided to come over into my lane. I had to slam on the brakes for him not to hit me (I was about 1/2 way between the front and rear of the truck.
I swear man... Truck Drivers think they signal and everything will be fine. I wish they took more caution when moving from lane to lane. They have at least 3 mirrors on each side, and they never use them.
I\'m glad to hear that you are alright. I hope the damage to your car isn\'t too extensive, and mostly cosmetic.
Best of luck in getting through the situation.

I was up at the body shop that will be working on my car and noticed a couple other 3\'s there as well. Any one here have their cars up on Heritage road in Markham? I saw a grey sedan with rims up there?? Mine is at KC Auto Body.
An appraiser FINALLY came to see the car today. The owner of KC Auto Body said that I should have the car back by mid September!! LOL....the estimate is $4500 just for the body, not including the mechanical work that will be done by Mazda. This is a lengthly process that I was unaware of previously. I will also be swithcing my insurance company, but have not informed them of this yet, my current policy expires on September 21....lol...I am sure they will be happy to hear that!

Never heard of them but hey if they have Mazda cars on their lot than they probably know what they\'re doing.

That was a huge chunk out of your tire and it didn\'t pop. hope your ok accidents are bad.:( but everyone rebounds:)
im sorry to hear about the accident. good luck.
so whos paying for the damages? you or the truck driver?
i know truck drivers can be so careless because they know nothing can happen to them since their car is 5 times the size of our 3s,
last night on mccowan and denison, at around 10 30, a van ran into a truck transporting lexuses, i dont know if the brand new lexuses were damaged but it would suck to see any accidents on the road.

It takes that long to repair the damage? Does your policy cover the use of a rental car?
