Depends on how the web hosting is setup. Who installs and manages the server, OS and BB software?

Definately, the version of Open Bulletin Board being used is old (1.0.6). The most recent is 1.0.8 and it fixes problems which allow hacks to happen. (It has some problems too, but they are not as serious)

Since I havn\'t read a definitive account of what caused the problems, I can\'t say if this would have prevented them, but it generally isn\'t a good idea to leave your door unlocked if you don\'t want your car stolen.

Admin needs to research for holes then patch through scripts. Even if TM3 does change software to something else, security holes will always exist unless the admin keeps upto date and makes the appropriate script changes.

Thank god we dont have a spam bot issue here
