Make sure you get a diamond with GIA or AGS. You know what you are getting for what you pay. I went through a private jeweler and was quite happy with the results.

Gemscan appraised the ring 3x higher than what I paid. I highly doubt I would ever get that from an insurance company if it were lost or stolen.

I'm a very picky person and decided on one that was GIA. Everything excellent and went a little bigger rather than clarity. Settled for a SI2 which still looks perfect to the naked eye. I would have preferred a VS2 or VS1 but I'm okay with what I got and what I spent.

I'm a stickler and had to look at it under 10x magnification and saw all of the flaws but it sparkles like a son of a bitch and she loves it. So that's all that matters. :)

Definitely do your homework and shop around. I used Bluenile as a reference as well as some other diamond forums. I definitely know a lot more about diamonds than I ever expected to.

Through no fault of his own my father backed into my car.

He got called out last night and for some reason I parked behind him. I usually park on the other side of the driveway. Black car+large truck+no outdoor lights equals this.

It could have been a lot worse.

My dad has offered to pay for the repair but I was wanting to get my hood refinished anyways so oh we'll.

Yup. Already looked into that.

Just got off the phone with the repair shop... Looks like the jack@$$ thieves damaged the paint on the pillars so it had to be repainted. Looks like it'll be done Monday. Damn this. I need to drive the car badly!

Ugh need to figure out a way to reprogram or redo the Bluetooth stack on the GS models. Shows track number SOMETIMES with my S4 and everything else stays 0'00'0. Either need to figure out if I can do something about that with my phone or replace the audio system entirely with something better.
