Usually just throw outlook and the odd dashboard (jira, reviewboard, etc) on the laptop display. Center display goes to main dev work visual studio, eclipse, etc and right display goes to RDP sessions, sql server, perforce, etc.

Been in Montreal since Tuesday night for a Cisco course for work.

My first visit to Montreal that is not just driving through...and I managed to do a few things.

Went to Dunns and got a real Monteral smoked meat Rueben and a Poutine.
Went to 5 guys burgers for the first time (I was so full I didn't even get dinner)
Went down to the Jazz festival tonight for a while and it was not even what I expected, the sound , atmosphere and the amount of people there was awesome.
Saw McGill University, went and saw the football stadium, also took a stroll down St Catharine st, and even did my course!

ya I wish either I worked closer to Barrie, or my girlfriend lived closer to Markham so I could see her more.

That was basically the whole angst in the first place trying to figure out our live and where to live and how we are going to afford it together. She had a bit of a breakdown last week and bascially said that unless I figure out some way to live in Barrie we won't be living together because she can't afford to live closer to the city. But I gave her a spreadsheet of budgets, and living costs and average rents and made it a bit more understandable...it looks more affordable than she thought, so for now we are going to live one day at a time.

I just was hesitant to bring up the discussion because unfortunately I can't afford to work in Markham, and live in Barrie full time. And unfortunately with no qualifications other than years of experience it is difficult for me to get a new job in IT until I can get some diploma or something behind my name.

I usually deal with CMTS and edge devices for my job, I was at the course for mainly monitoring an reporting, however I actually found this course pretty interesting and learned a bit.

argh, my stupid trunk lock is blocked with something, it started in the winter which caused me to believe it is salt build up, I used to be able to get my key all the way in now I can't I tried spraying Jig-a-loo in it but that hasn't seemed to fix it, gonna try wd40 next. other than that I have no idea. Very frustrating because I pretty much always use my key for the trunk.

I literally just got back home from Montreal for my first time getting a chance to actually walk around..I was with a work buddy so we were able to explore.

Went and got a real Montreal smoked meat sandwhich and poutine (went to Dunns)
We walked to McGill Uni and went and peeked around the school and football stadium.
Took a stroll through the "tourist" area (I will have to look it up)
There is street downtown that has a tonne of pubs/bars on it, if you are looking for lunch.
The Jazz festival was insanely awesome Thursday night, I was not expecting anything, well the area was packed full of people and the music was great.

Point and shoot cameras have come a long way and once you know how to use them, you can take some good photos. Plus they are small and convenient so it's easy to keep in your pocket

The dslr's won't make your photos better and are usually bulky and in the end you may not feel like carrying it with you

Getting that good shot means you had your gear with you to take that picture when the opportunity was there

I need to charge up my Panasonic Lumix and keep that on me. Takes fantastic photos

I had a Nikon D80 sit on a shelf for maybe a year before my wife started to use it, in the end that wasn't a waste I guess

Redline makes one...give them a call and ask what they think you should use. I don't know if the skyactiv calls for a different weight than the regular 3, but it would make sense it had a slightly lower weight at temp to get better mileage.

Apparently the main stage was the biggest stage ever created in Canada. The light show with the music was amazing! There was a trance music stage near the water that boats chilled to watch at some points. Perfect stage to get a nice breeze and calm down from the intenseness of the other stages lol

I heard the wineries there are really nice but we're not going there, maybe next time. We were originally planning on driving over to the American side to do some shopping as well but we're going to do that some other time. Just going to go to see the falls and Clifton Hill where all the attractions are.

I am not a wine drinker period, prefer other forms of liquid libation. That said the wife and I have done a few Niagara trips over the past few years. We've stayed in Jordan as a base and traveled from there. Stayed in the Inn on the Twenty in Jordan, very nice place, but super $$$. We normally stay at Among the Vines B&B at Di Profio Wines which is 2 minutes north of 'downtown' Jordan. Cost is fairly cheap and she makes the best breakfast ever.

Wife normally gets to 6-7 wineries per day and I make sure we make it to Dillons (Distillery) and Silversmith Breweries.

We did the Passport Tour last year and had a great time.

Really depends. Some places charge say $5 for 3 tastings, others do a per glass and others will wave the fee if you buy anything.

We've never paid to enter anywhere and parking has always been free. Quite often if they ask if I want wine, I say I am the DD and I'll get a drink for free.
