New job, my old company closed the doors shortly after I was laid off. Its in my field, and a program I've wanted to know/learn (ProE), so everything is good!
For any of you out there that are on EI, look into the TWS program (Targeted Wage Subsidy), it can give you that "edge" for employers to hire you! Covers up to half your wages for up to 6 months to help you get in the door. Relieves the employer on "training costs"..... My new employer was going to hire me anyways, but when I told him about this, he jumped all over it!
