MIAMI (AFP) - A US filmmaker who lay trapped beneath Haiti's earthquake rubble for nearly three days survived in part thanks to a medical application installed on his iPhone, he told a television station Thursday.

Dan Woolley was making a documentary about poverty in Port-au-Prince when last week's devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck, trapping him in the ruins of his hotel with a fractured leg and a profusely bleeding gash to his head.


"I had my iPhone with me and I had a medical app on there, so I was able to look up treatment of excessive bleeding and compound fracture," Woolley told MSNBC in Miami.


Using the Jive Media Pocket First Aid and CPR, he found recommendations for how to self-treat his injuries.


"So I used my shirt to tie my leg and a sock on the back of my head. And later used it for other things, like to diagnose shock," he added.


Woolley also used the iPhone's more traditional functions, setting its alarm to go off every 20 minutes to keep him from falling asleep.


Eventually, after some 66 hours trapped under the rubble, Woolley was pulled out alive by French rescuers.

w00t for another weekend..

My g/f and I decided we would turn our spare room into a spare room/office so we bought a desk at office depot last night...we asked the lady how big the box is, and they said usually the same size as the biggest desk piece...wong!

The box was bigger, a lot; then we expected. We got it out to our 3 (sedan) and the guy laughed when I told him I was going to fit it in. Now I have no use of my trunk (sub box) so this was even trickier.

We managed to get in in through the back passenger door, and jimmy it around so it layed flat on the passenger seat resting on the plastic piece that is under the rear window and on the ebrake handle :headbang

Now im currently piecing the system together that we are going to put in the office itself.

Since my g/f is working all weekend I will be with my Mary Jane comforters and MJ, tools, and a phuck load of desk pieces. It should be interesting.

ie, oil change is 0.3 units, 4 tires is 0.8, etest is 0.3.
this pay i made 48 units.
so, 0-29 is $2/unit
30-39 is $3
40-49 is $4
50-59 is 5, etc etc

so, i landed in the $4/unit level. so, about $200 :)


i dont know how much i paid for EI but i know its alot. i get taxed alot too damn..and im P/T

when my EI checks came, while i was in school for automotive, i was getting $620 biweekely, and taxed i think about $30 i think. its not alot, but wtf?

^driveline, 2wd gets a full test unless a 4wd dyno is available, then 2 or 4wd get them. Diesels also get a cheesy test regardless.....

I used to work at Toys R Us at Yonge and Eg, and we had a rat problem like you would not believe... (Probably because of the subway below us)... every night they would come and eat all the chocolate bars and chips. We lost hundreds of dollars in food over a span of just a few months, so we had to start picking out the stuff that wasn't all chewed up and covered in poo and rat fur, and put it back on the shelves.

Eventually we started putting it in bins every night but sometimes people forget. Just a tip: squeeze your bags of chips before buying them. If air comes out put them back and WASH YOUR HANDS hahahhaha

Also, I wouldn't buy anything from the Metro in that mall either, they probably have it 10x worse cuz they were a floor below us :whoa
