My new look after changing leds in guage cluster

Hey everybody,
i got bored one day so i changed out all of my leds from red to blue on my guages looks nice imo what do you thnk?

As far as I know, the radio display and the odie can't be changed, unless you created an entire new display. $5000-$6000?

Some members have reversed the radio display (i.e. red text on a black background), I haven't seen anybody do it for the odometer though. If it were possible I would do it as it makes it stand out less against that blue.

the cs-7 and rx-8s have that for the radio display.. and so does at least one 2005 mazda3 :D

the leds will take like 2 days or so to become brighter that was taken the day i did it they are somewhat brighter now. Also the picture is making it appear darker then it really is

nOW I know my next project!


Very easy to do but you need a fine saughtering iron in order to not destroy the saughtering connection on the motherboard. I did this on the radio part of it a while back and ended up paying 150$ for a new radio :( Luckily i was able to borro my coworkers fine tip saughtering iron.

i dont have the blue ring around my odometer because i do not have the gt model :( but i would guess that it would blend in
I looked in to the digital display and have found nothing that would be able to replace that.

Thanks i wish i could change the odo to be blue aswell but since that is almost impossible i would like to know if it were possible to change the odo to black background red numbers. Anybody know the link where i could find it on how to do it to the radio?

I would like to start doing this mod for anybody who would be interested but am a little bit nervous to offer the service because if i do not align the guages properly then the guages will be off. I experienced this with my own gas guage but all others turned out fine.

I have an aftermarket deck in my car with working stereo controls and the deck is blue* :D

They probably thaught that they would be copying VW to much and left it red and like i said before i would be willing to do this mod but my only problems would be that if i dont get your needle gauges right then you would come back and coomplain >:( and it would only be doable on a weekend because i have access to that tool at the weekend until i get my own.

Sorry... I know how to do the change of LEDs mine are done already, what I am drooling over is the Radio Display at the top... tells you the time, radio station etc... I NEED that in Blue.
