Anyways I was driving around yesterday when this car caught my eye.
http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/ly/07gli.htm
I'm seriously considering this over the MS3. The DSG version of course that way the wife can drive the car if she needs to and it's still quicker than the manual gearbox. ;D

I just don't like the exterior styling of any of the new VW's, and this is no exception. Where is this car built.....Mexico or Germany?

The only reason I'm not driving a GTI is because of the high interest rates that they still offer!

Mexico, but that's not an issue with me of where it's built. I've driven the GTI and the A3 so I want to see how this car is before I decide. All the Audi's/VW's now have that grille that extends down the bumper. Kinda like that style.

i hate the ass and the dash of the new jettas, that link didn't have a great ass shot to see if the GLI is slightly different!
one of my friends saw and EOS the other day on the road, it looks pretty crazy (maybe it had US plates, since i think they are not out in canada yet??)
i like the old GLIs

All Jettas (even the ones for the European market) are build in Mexico
All GTI's & Rabbits are built in Germany
Hate the Jetcorolla styling
Love the GTI styling
How about a 4 door GTI instead??????

I saw one around my neck of the woods a couple of days ago with Ontario plates (not dealer plates either).

MK4 GLI's are the perfect car.
You can leave the car stock and it looks hot

That's the forum I was looking for. Thanks TP.

That is what I am here for...
Really technically speaking GTI was really a 'trim' of the GOLF.
If you go to Europe there is GOLF "GTI's"
Long story short - yes we have a 4 door GTI available. (I believe its only like $900 more than the 2 door)
There will be a 4 door R36 available as well (not sure if NA is getting it)
Anyways
Basicall you get all the nice stuff
HIDs, 2.0T, DSG (option), ESP list goes on...
VWVORTEX.com is your best friend (I'm on there - vdub bella) :D
Price one out on vw.ca
And you know the MS 3 will whip it!

A friend at work has a 1.8T... He just threw the chip in last week. An extra 100ft/lbs of torque... :) nice.

Nopers... sorry Ive got history with dubs too, but 100ft/lbs of torque is a pipe dream! Generally Upsolute has a large market share in the GTA, alot of ppl I know run them. For the cost its the best you can pick up localy. APR is also good.
2002-2006 VW GTI / Jetta 1.8T 180HP
HP
180 Stock
212 Upsolute Chip
Torque
173 Stock
228 Upsolute Chip
2006 Volkswagen GTI / Jetta 2.0T FSI
HP
200* Stock
240* Upsolute
Torque
207 Stock
258 Upsolute
As you can see the TQ increase is about 50 (at the crank)
Turbo engines respond well to a turboback exhaust (unlike an NA car...it likes alot less backpressure) and Intake, with a chip...couple of other mods and u can do 210WHP easily from the 1.8t.

Well the car has to be brand spankin' new. I've had too many bad experiences with the pre-owned variety.
If the VW plan falls through I might join the MS6 club. ???

Dude, screw the VW (sorry MK) and just go for the MS6. You'll get a better deal, it's probably bigger, service will be cheaper, and it doesn't look ghey 8)

Hey, I like the MKIV's, but the new ones are just girly looking IMO. Calling it a Rabbit doesn't help either!
