I'm done with this club.
Lately, I've grown more and more frustrated with this lack of doing anything regarding our club, forums, and our other "properties". It seems to me that everyone here LOVES to talk about all the great ideas they have, which is fine, but for God's sakes!!! Do something! Put those ideas into action. Don't just sit around and have meeting after meeting after meeting to talk about ideas. There comes a point where it becomes counterproductive.
Time after time, I have posted my thoughts on the matter, suggestions on what to do, and yet, it's like you guys are either pissed at me for something (which I certainly hope is not the case), are ignoring me (again, hope that's not the case) or are simply not seeing my posts for whatever reason.
Either way, I have seen enough with this club, and I am bowing out. Clearly, there are larger control issues here than what appears to be on the surface, and it seems to me that certain individuals (whose names will go unmentioned for eternity) are desperate to retain power by deriding others for doing what they feel is best for the club.
It's been fun, but as I've said before... this is getting way out of hand. When you guys are organized (meaning to say, have a website, with forums, committee, sponsors, affiliates, etc etc etc etc etc), I might be interested in joining up. But, judging by the speed at which things are happening (or not happening), I might already be out of my 4 year lease on my 3 and onto another car.
Thanks for the memories.

I feel your pain, but give it until the end of the month, hopefully something good will come about by then. Rome wasn't built in a day.

You do realize we have to wait until Robin/TM3 returns from his vacation before we can proceed with the necessary changes, right? What are you expecting people to do in the interim?
If you want to leave then go for it, but I'm not sure why you're so upset ::)

I won't even be in town by the end of the month and it's not likely I'm going to come out in the middle of winter for a meet unless I'm going stir crazy.

What's going on with Robin and the other info from the old site? Why can't we just move on and start from scratch?
Patiently waiting......

You do? I hate to break it to you, but you don't...

I'm upset because how long has it been that the old forums were down? 1 month? 2 months? I can organize a conference with 42 speakers, co-ordinate flights, book a hotel room block, and a venue, all in the space of ONE WEEKEND. Plus add 6 months to develop the website, do the marketing campaigns, talk to the people in the industry, etc etc etc etc. Come conference day, there are 600 people at the front door waiting to get in.
And it has taken this long to decide to give Robin more time to get back to you, which he naturally won't just to make things harder for you. Do you really think he wants to give up control? If he wanted to, he would have done so the moment Ami offered him a tidy sum of cash. But he didn't... and he didn't again when we asked him....
I don't mean to piss on your efforts, you've done well so far, but with the amount of time you've had to solve the problem versus what has been accomplished, not much has been done, unless things have been done that I am not aware of.
There is lots you can do in the interim. Start by getting in touch with the Tech Contact and ask him if its possible to get a copy of the database dump for the website.

It took centuries, and Rome wasn't just a city - It became an EMPIRE. I don't mind chilling out here at our temporary forum.

To be honest, I don't want to leave, however, enough is enough. I'm not going to add anymore input into this as clearly it hasn't made a difference. We are still waiting for Robin. By the time he gets in touch with you, I will have started my own car club. LOL.
And while we are talking about clubs, I have to say that it's pretty hard to say we are a club... I look at this as more of a loosely organized group of people that drive the same car.
It is, what it is.
Sorry to burst your collective bubbles, but it needs to be said.

Where? Show me the threads in the committee lounge where you have posted these suggestions on what to do? Everyone gets to state their opinion and in the end a majority consensus gets the result. Stop behaving like a child for god sake if you don't get your way. I originally thought we should have moved when the torontomazda3.ca site went up but you didn't see me crying when it didn't happen.

BULLSHIT!
We are all trying to work together Justin but it becomes painfully difficult when we have an ex administrator who doesn't respond or people like you who deliberately try to poison the atmosphere by implying there is some sort of conspiracy at hand.
If you want to go because you don't see the progress that you had wished for then by all means go ahead. No one is stopping you. But if you want to drop insinuations about what is happening in the background then you can be sure as hell I will challenge YOU at every turn Justin.
P.S. I've contacted torontomazda3.com@domainsbyproxy.com and I recieved a message indicating that I need to contact the site admin (ROBIN) for any information related to the database. Any more bright ideas?

Yeah, let's move on without the idiot. Unless we have access to the config files for the forum. In which the database info can be found.

NO NO!
Lets not. I want to hold on to more power. I have control issues you see.

And on that note, it's time for me to leave to have my oil changed.
justin, everything falls right back onto TorontoMazda3.com
No one has access to the file space there except Robin, who I unfortunately do have to say has us at his mercy.
We can do anything and everything, which TorontoMazda3.ca has started ... but the foundation has already been built on TorontoMazda3.com
It's like saying, here's Toronto, but the borders are locked up and the people who know, have all gone to live in Vancouver. Everyone sees Toronto on the map but no one can get in to redirect them to Vancouver.
