I'm not a big fan of scary movies, but I was dragged to go see the Grudge (the first one).* Looking back, it wasn't that scary or freaky, I ended up laughing during "the scary bits" simply because of the reaction of the females in the audience.

Admittedly, I have a copy of the Ring on DVD, but it is still sealed. I have no inclination to watch it in the near future.

Any scary movies that make a girl scream I consider a scary movie. Saw the Grudge 2 this weekend with the wife the guy sitting beside me with his girlfriend was covering his eyes. :D I was laughing throughout the whole thing.

well they say its scary but actually you'll laugh all the way throughout the movie if boredom doesn't get to you first.

try watching "Ringu". Japanese version of the Ring. is like 3 or 4 movies so a good halloween night movie marathon.

if not, try watching "Ju-on 1 and 2". Japanese version of Grudge.

i fell asleep watching juon coz i got bored.

The two that stands out in my mind has got to be:

The Exorcist
Ringu original japanese version.

And probably the orginal Omen rounding out the top 3.

Any of you 'youngins' ever watch a real scary movie, something like "American Werewolf in London"? I couldn't sleep for a week after watching that.....I was only like seven years old, but still.

Hahaha when I was a kid, all of those horror movies freaked me out. I remember trying to watch Steven King's "It" and I couldn't sleep at night. I watched it a few yrs ago and just kept laughing and thinking how dumb of a kid I was (and still is). ;D

PS the ending is just pure dumbness

PPS I was gonna watch the modern-day Omen but I read a few reviews stating the original Omen just puts the new one to shame.

LMAO......I figured that was you ;) ....jk!

Anyways, If you liked the Ring which by the way was a little bit of a rip-off from "The Changeling", starring George C Scott... its a little dated done in the 70s I believe, but definitely one of the best Ghost movies ever. There's also another one called simply "Ghost Story" done in the 80s starring a very old Fred Astaire,.... whooo but vvvelry scarelry.Try them out if you can find them.

The Exorcist

I'd agree with this one, although on the second and third watchings I found it funny.

Also if you are getting it get the 25th anniversary edition, the one with the spiderwalk scene!

I still remember when the stage manager offered the lead character some ice cubes before going on stage.

Showgirls.

What's so scary about Showgirls? Elizabeth Berkley's makeup wasn't that bad. Like Tammy Faye Baker was a lot worst, now that's a horror story.

One more to add Killer Clowns From Outer Space.

For those that hate clowns this is a classic flic.

The Exorcist was one of the best.

I never understood why people liked The Ring. That movie blew chunks - and it wasn't scary at all.

Oh and I have to admit that I really liked the orignal The Blair Witch Project.

well for me it was The Exorcist, Witch board, the original omen. The Exorcist is the worst, remind you that i watched this when i was a kid but i still can't watch it up to now.

Someone mentioned something about a movie called "Session 9"

That's all I remember

i tried to watch the exorcist when i was young, and to be honest i fell asleep,
it really bored me!

the ring, was scary because it was so dark and the imagery was intense
and that is what made it freak you out!

lol

a friend of mine was watchin the ring and a blackout hit,
lol

he was scared!

Tell a bunch of friends to get a game called Zero. Its for PS2 and its about a girl going in the haunted house to find her brother which was lost in there and using a camera to kill the ghost. Sounds stupid but its freaking scary.
There are 2 episodes to that game.

Or just play Resident Evil 1, 2 or 3

I found the movie Stir of Echoes pretty freaky.

IT's about a guy who gets hypnotized and then something goes wrong when snapping him out of it and he ends up being able to see ghosts.

Any movie staring David Caruso is scary.
