Talk to Jeff from Lockdown: info@lockdownsecurity.ca
He offers mostly CompuStar alarm + remote starters. I have one in my car and absolutely love it. Hope that helps.

Mazda OEM one and it works great. I can turn the defroster on with a touch of a button from my house and it upgrades the stock security system and has a shock sensor feature.
We can work out a good price for you. Your car is an automatic right?

They use to be over $400.
I can do them for $239.96 plus tax for the kit and $132.30 plus tax for the labour.

Is the upgrade to the security system the shock sensor? Or is there more to it?
Turning on the defroster remotely is a cool feature.

Turning on the defroster remotely is a cool feature.
Here are the upgraded security features:
-All entrances are protected Opening any entrance will activate the alarm.
-Interiror theft sensor Horn will sound once upon a light impact to the car.* Harder impacts will trigger the full alarm.(Adjustable sensitivity)
-Starter disabled when armed
If anyone want to see a demo I can arrange it.

The OEM system is a pretty neat system. How is the range on it Joe?
There is a huge thread talking about the OEM Remote Start over at M3F.

The range claims up to 800 feet away. I've started the car from the middle entrance of Markville Mall and the car was parked by East Side Mario's. How many feet is that?

Best thing is to drop by on one of my Saturdays and try the starter yourself.
What does the fob look like Joe?

LOL so if that's the upgraded security system, what's the stock like? If a door is opened it doesn't do anything?
As for the car starter I think you know how much I admire that thing Joe...
Just can't quite afford it yet lol

Not in this case. Many remote starters are for auto transmissions only. Your best bet is to get a Compustar.

What is the Mazda part number for a 2009 Mazda 3 Hatchback GX? I have a line on a 0000-8FL10B, is this the right unit?

I believe Viper has a system that uses an iPhone App. So as long as your car, and you both are in cell connection you can start from wherever!
Extreme example: You're travelling in another city for work and your partner calls and says they need something from the car but don't have the keys. You can unlock the doors from your iPhone where you are then lock again.

this system costs over 500 dollars and I dont think it works with Wifi, you need to have a data plan

$500 doesn't seem bad and I would think most people have data plans with iPhones...

so 600+ dollars for an iphone if u dont have one, around 40+ for data plan, or 200 dollars for iphone 3 year contract with 40+ for data plan.
Total guesstimate 200(phone)+480(dataplan)+500(maybe more for actuall product)=1180 +taxes
