You guys should visit Austin and surrounding areas of Texas. Also southern California. ;)

I was in Austin for about two weeks in the summer last year......didn't really see why everyone makes such a big fuss over that place. I've been told I just wasn't in the 'right' places to appreciate it (I was staying downtown). I've also been to California (LA and surrounding area) and that too was unimpressive. Now Chicago, that's a nice US city 8)

Yeah, Chicago is great. Lived there for 4 years. Austin is a city with small town attitude. If you're into live music, you'll find a venue for just about every type there is. And if you drive out west, you'll get into beautiful scenery in the hills and drive some awesome twisties. L.A. is too hyped up. I'd prefer San Diego and the surrounding areas. Beautiful and mild all year long.
PS: I hate going through downtown Austin as there isn't much to see. Of course, most of what Austin has to offers isn't always obvious at first glance. It's not a flashy city by any means (to something like Toronto with large signs everywhere).
Wow, talk about off-topic. :D

Dont worry about it main thing that i wanted to point out was that they had the mz3speed in black where we only get it in red :(
Yeah, I really want to visit San Fran and San Diego.
been to both and i personally think its not that big of a hit but yet again that was years ago when i was there maybe things have majorly changed
I always pressure my friends to buy stuff made in Canada. I have not been to the states in 10 years or more. I just don't need to go.

I find some places are great to visit, but not so much to live in. Everyone has their own life style preference.

Forgetting the extra colour options, they also get it cheaper and with more options like the leather seat bolsters and nav system!

The Nav system is a waste IMO. Better to get a proper hand-held GPS.

The Nav system is a waste IMO.* Better to get a proper hand-held GPS.
The thing I like about a nav system is that I don't have to constantly worry about someone stealing it.* With an aftermarket system, I'd have to constantly ensure I don't leave it on the dash or something.
I've been using a hand-held for years now but if I didn't think it would get ripped out, I'd definitely install a proper one in the dash.*
Of course, the OEM ones always seem to cost 2-3 times what they're worth. Total rip-off.

If somone wanted to steal an OEM nav system, they would steal it. They're probably more attractive anyway because you can tell a 3 has a nav system just by looking at the top of the dash. Your handheld can be locked into the deeper-than-Sunfire glove box or locked in the trunk if you have a sedan.

Aren't most new OEM systems pretty useless and easily tracked once stolen? I thought people didn't bother stealing the stock stuff anymore.
Maybe I'm wrong.
And is the glove box in the 3 seriously bigger than the Sunfire's? I find that difficult to believe. My glove box is somehow attached to an actual black hole and consumes anything that finds its way near the opening.
Either way, it sucks that they've got more available options. ;D

If by 'regime' you mean Dubya, keep in mind that the people of the US voted for him twice now ::) That's enough to tell me that the USA is not 'fine' ;)
Having said that I'm not so anti-American that I won't travel there.......the US has a lot to offer, but if I had my choice I wouldn't want to live there (Hawaii not included ;D).

Sorry I disagree
Can someone justify to me why I can buy a Coach bag for $70 and a pair of Missy Elliott Adidas kicks for $15 where the same bag at the Coach store costs $299!!!!!!!!!! and the Adidas kicks at Foot Locker here cost $119.99
I'm sorry. The government wastes my tax money on enough dumb shit that I dont support (i.e. providing needles to crack addicts)
I love shopping in states - and so do A LOT of Canadians when I have to wait an hour at the border to cross over for a weekend of shopping. ITS SO WORTH IT. Sorry Canada! Even their McDonalds has better sammiches
/end rant :D
PS - I am not some crazy wanna be American - I just like their shopping malls

MK, taxes are not the cause of our higher prices. Other factors such as economies of scale and exchange rates have a much higher impact on our prices than do taxes.

what i was trying to say is....
I will pay taxes and my taxes will go towards something I dont support
So... to me if I'm giving my money to someone I dont like might as well be the country that is giving me better 'deals' per se

All valid points. I just believe in patronizing local businesses even if it costs more. We live here... I feel we should spend our money here. If we all spend our money else where... we wouldn't be investing in our future.
Not a fan of health care?

i try to support local business if i can...but unfortunately, i find myself buying a lot from the US due to the deals...they just seem to be able to offer much better value in comparison...from clothes to food to car parts....etc....i was in California this summer and was amazed at the prices of everything...and when shopping online...i'm like a fat kid in a candy store.
i love canada, but i would consider living in the US if everything else was right....like having a billion $s....but i would always be a canadian at heart and first.
and one thing i'm happy about is that, even though we pay ridiculous amounts of taxes...we do have great health benefits....i know some people in the USA who injured themselves in some motorcycle accidents and even though they survived...they're now stuck with a $300,000 bill..

One thing the USA suffers is public health care. It's atrocious and very bureaucratic and very expensive with a lot of hidden details.
Most Americans don't really buy local either... majority of affordable items are made in sweatshops in other parts of the world and the companies make 200% profit per sale. /rant

just as a point of interest!
crack is not injected, so needles are not required! they supply needle exchange for opioid and cocaine injectors, but again, crack is not injected, it is smoked.
and if you think programs like needle exchange and such are a bad idea, and a waste of tax money, u r insane. harm reduction is an important endeavour, the amount of money that is required to keep them afloat is not that much, and u see the saving when it comes to decreases in health care costs and lower rates of HIV and other viral transmissions!
addicts are people too, if i told you one day thats it! no more shopping, would u be able to give it up so easy? (i know it is not a great example but it illustrates a good point) and the drive to use drugs is much greater than ur drive to shop!
oh, and despite my hatred for the states, i do like to shop there too!
lol
