So Iordered the XM radio and NAV unit that plugs into my Pioneer head unit. Not availble in Canada, but I bought one about three months used from another forum. Retail on the unit is$199 US, plus subsciption. I purchased for $175US with a 12 month subscription. The seller wa supposed to ship fedex Ground, and shipped UPS instead. Today, I come home, and UPS has visited, and left me with a notice. The brokerage fee due is $82.25 , WTF!!!!
Do I have any options?, or just bring my vasoline, and take it like a champ?

Sign up for that class-action lawsuit!
That's absolutely ridiculous. And complain to the seller for shipping UPS!
For the mean time... lube up... LOL

Even if they had shipped Fed EX, you would still be hit up for about the same amount in brokerage fees

If the seller declared the item as being worth $175USD either on the bill of lading and/or on some sort of a commercial invoice, then there's not much you can do. I had UPS once charge me something crazy like $250CAD for an amp I bought used through the US. The seller had marked on the waybill the full MSRP of a new one ($800) even though I only paid around half. I had him call UPS and say that he made a mistake, and that he meant to write $80. They asked for it in writing, which the seller was kind enough to do, and the bill was reduced to around $60 ;D
Other than trying something like that, I think you're SOL.

you cant really do anything.
its the right amount they charged you.
if it was a wrong amount for example they charged you customs fees for $1000 instead of a $100 then yes there is something you can do about it. (but that would still take a year to do so) I know cause I have done it and it took about a year before I got my money back.
UPS is not stupid, they know that you guys will try to use another company because of the high bokerage fees. so thats why they charge a very low shipping cost. (more reason for the shipping to use them) but at the end the receiver will pay around $30-$40 more on brokerage feed to balance out the low shipping price lol
