Has anyone seen Michael Richard's (aka Kramer from Seinfeld) racist tirade at a comedy club recently? If not and you're interested, it's on YouTube, I won't be linking to it since it does get rather nasty. It's a shame.

Very uncool...but I like how "classy" the two guys in the crowd got by calling him a white cracker ass after words. This is hardly a one sided thing like the media has it made it. He was provoked and lost his cool. But like I said, the two guys in the crowd went all scarlem on him and for a min there I thought I was watching Get Rich Or Die Tryin. ::)

Agreed, the media is making this seem very one sided, and while what 'Kramer' did was not necessarily the right thing to do, the other two clowns in the audience are no less guilty.

He still should've kept his calm though.

without seeing what they said to provoke him, i will reserve some judgement!

however, he was out of line!

calling him a cracka-ass muddafarka, is not the same thing as calling someone a nigga in obviously racist way that he meant it!

at first he said it, got a rise and made a joke of it, that was fine, this is comedy and it is gonna be racist sometimes!
thats how comedy is, and we all have to be grown up enough to accept it or find some candy-assed comedians who
will tell G-rated material! but he went to far, and it goes to show his true character!

if those guys were just talking in the show and bothering his performance, well, too freaking bad, his job is to handle that shit! plain and simple!!! from what i saw, he provoked them!

what they said was trash talk, nothing more and what he said was terrible!

but it seems that what they proved from the situation was that they were right about him!

I really hope you are kidding because if you aren't, you are dullisional. Calling a caucasian person a "****ing White Boy" and "Cracker Ass " is trash talking? I don't know part of the hood you grew up at but that is NOT trash talking. Trash talking is calling someone fat and stupid, basically insults without reference to their ethnic group.

I don't support what Richards did but you're telling me the two hecklers were all innocent? Are you kidding? I don't know man, from what I heard in that video, they went all "Fifty Cent" on him and I thought they were gonna pull out guns and shoot him on stage. The guy lost his cool when THUGS started interrupting him. He should have attacked them personally but he didn't.

Why do we all over react when there is racism against a certain group? Another case of them playing the race card over and over again? There are many racist jokes that stand ups tell, 90% of Russell Peters' jokes are racist against brown and asian people.

I guess what you are trying to tell us Broli is, if a thug 1) stole your ride and 2) interrupted you on stage, you'll still be all "I love the world, you are my brother". ::)

Typical "thug" situation. What's with this social group that likes to "up" themselves and their egos by dressing up like "thugs", the most despicable ...

Nevermind, that will just get ugly wouldn't it.

Why just last night in the gym, everyone is working out doing their own thing. Out of no where these two guys with a girl are talking LOUDLY amongst themselves, screaming, yelling, what not (they're not fighting or arguing). What the ****. Have some God Damned respect for the rest of the people trying to work out. Yes those two guys were the stereotypic "thug" type (going by the way they dressed, the way they talked, and hell yeah even the way they walked).

Two caucasian men working out nearby I could over hear them say "shut the **** up, losers."

Like all things that go thru the media, there's a side of this story that the average public won't know about and it's how those "thugs" initiated the typical rudeness to start the non-sense. Richards' racist comments were definitely uncalled for.

I foresee news coming up where he'll get the 187 by some of the ppl of this despised social group. ::)

If you've ever been to a comedy club you understand that here can be people that are disrespectful of the people on stage. Either they talk over the act or they heckle. It's a fact of life and the performers have to deal with it. This is where they perfect their trade. The good ones move beyond this.

Michael Richards took it too far and made a racist comment. I had to view the video twice before I could actually believe it. Sad really. The question you have to ask yourself is does what they did justify the comments made by Richards. Sure the guys were being thugs and disrespectful so that makes them fark tards at best. What Richards did in his comments was to make his remarks be directed not to an individual but to an entire race. That’s dangerous.

The "thugs" in return made racist comments back. Pure and simple. To view "white boy cracker" comment as trash talking is ignoring the facts. The fact they used the term "white" in their attack implies race. It's a racist comment so deal with it as such.

The last time I checked when people are under stress a common side affect isn't to become racist. The same thing goes for alcohol. You don't become a racist simply by drinking alcohol (i.e. Mel Gibson). Richards really farked up! The apology he made wasn't even in the right venue (i.e. the Letterman Show). If he was truly contrite he would have apologized to the Afro-American community on their turf. It’s situations like these where you truly get to see how people truly are inside.

Oh man that was so strange to hear Richards trying to apologize while the audience was laughing in the background. Even Sienfeld had to tell the audience to stop and that "it was not funny."

I’m surprised Richard’s handlers didn’t tell him to say it was substance abuse and the quickly get him into rehab. Seems like all of Hollywood is using that excuse.

saying someone went all 'fifty cent' and assuming that because they were black they would pull a gun and calling them thugs just contributes to a continuing problem.
not just directed at you Rob, others called them thugs too!

Thug: (hood) an aggressive and violent young criminal
these were not criminals, maybe wannabe ganstas but thats it most likely

they may have been stupid young kids, but they are not required to be professional in that situation and dipshit was! on top of that, it is not unreasonable (not correct either, but not unreasonable) to loose your temper when someone insults you the way he did. I am sure both sides feel bad about what they said, but i am sure micheal richards feels bad because of the effects it may have on his dwindling career, while those kids feel bad because they let the 'the man' get to them!

lol

Broli, it is what it is. There are stereotypes about every ethnic group. You're telling me that when you hear about a store in Markham being closed down for pirating DVDs, you don't instantly think an asian run store? I am sure you think of a caucasian owner right away. Don't lie to yourself. The key to stopping racism isn't being politically correct about it and ignoring the problem. Young black males portray a thug image in society, all you have to do is watch the news...let's see...Jane Creba shooting arrests...Jane & Finch crimes...all you have to do is open your eyes man. I have a lot of african american friends are normal decent guys just like the rest of us and they tell me they are sick of it as well. A lot of the thug image has to do with the hip hop rap culture where its about gold teeth, baby's mommas, pimps, womanizers and cash money.

This is how society sees it...and if you guys want to turn around and lie to yourself then go ahead.

I agree with you that Richards went way out of line. As a professional you have to suck it up and just keep going. He had a brain cramp and went off like a mad man. It is sad...but if you notice there were people laughing in the crowd when he kept going...Were those people white? Were they asian? Were they even black? I don't know...one thing is for sure...more than ONE person in that club found what he was saying funnyy. That itself is a bigger problem. Racism and stereotypes are in ALL of us, usually the negative ones. But only when we stop lying to ourselves and bring it up for discussion, can we even try to attempt to eliminate it.

Broli

it seemed to me that the laughing that was going on was at first genuine, as they racial slurs in comedy are ok
however, as people realized what was going on
they stopped laughing, or laughed because they didn't know what to do, and in a comedy club ur supposed to laugh!

but we basically agree!

stereotypes and racisim are different things
generalizations and racisim are different things

sure, asians are considered the dvd pirates and the math wizards
sure blacks are considered the thugs and ganstas or have nice plump assed women
sure browns are conisdered to be terrorists and fundamenalists
sure whites are considered to be redneck hillbillies, or preppy bitches (they get 2! bstds! lol)
sure latins are gangbanging cholos and also have nice plump assed women and SHAKIRA

most people can make the distinction between generality and actuality!
and if not, well they are too stupid for us to concern ourselves with
so who cares what they say!

Everytime I'm at the gym and they got the MuchMusic channel on, no volume of course, I can't help but laugh at how stupid rap/hip-hop videos look.

Try it, you gotta wonder what the artists are really all about (not just one race but anyone and everyone who tries to do the typical rap video). Even Chinese rap videos! OMFG what a ... nevermind.
