Hi all,
I have a 2004 gt/gfx sedan and the other day while making a right turn in a parking lot, i (being the genius that i am) turned too tightly and i managed to climb the curb with the stock side skirt! :o panicking, i moved the car forward to get it off the curb, all the while hearing the painful scratching alongside the skirt...

the result is many small scratches and 2 large ones all underneath the skirt, but luckily they are not visible even when kneeling down beside the car, it's only when you lay right down on the floor you can see them.

Seeing as how these damages are purely cosmetic (hopefully?), should i just leave it the way it is or try to get it repainted? is it even possible to get these oem side skirts replaced if i wanted to go that route?

Still beating myself up over this >:( any suggestions are much appreciated, thanks!

they are plastic right?

i think it should be fine if it is all underneath

but i would like to hear what the experts say

for no reason in particular . . . lol

(no my side skirts are ok, but i am still curious . . .)

I have a few scratches under my front chin and I haven't bothered repainting those.

Side skirts are not metal so no worries about rusting up. If you got the money to spend, clean it up (your choice) otherwise just leave it. "Out of sight, Out of mind" as Bubba said. ;)

thanks for all the input, you guys are right - there really isn't any point in fixing up something that wont ever be seen. i was worried about rusting at first but yes indeed they are plastic. "out of sight, out of mind" it is ;D

here are some pics i had a chance to snap today though, just to give you an idea. sorry about the bad quality, my camera isnt great.

Here's my video of the 11th and beginning of 12th and final lap before I spun out. Yes my lines sucked, but considering I never went to those advanced driving schools or played any of GT3 or GT4 prior to this ... it was hella fun. ;D

i curbed my 3 as well. put the right side on a curb that for some reason was on the driveway of timmy's at finch and yonge. thankfully no scratches or cracks that are visible. other then the skirt is came off a little bit between the doors at the seam. thankfully its not very noticeable and the skirt isn't loose. not sure if there is any point of going to fix it or anything.

Passenger side is roughed up as well, 1 clip ripped off on the middle, but it was an easy fix. Didn't bother painting it because no one will notice it.
Save your cash and pick up some goodies for your car. ;)
