This movie is the tops. Reviews have raved and now so will I. 96% on the tomato movie forum, which alone says something.

Well to quickly summerize there is some T from T&A, not to much, but very passionate when it happens. There is a decent amount of A, plenty of action in the movie, you're never left wanting more, an it is skillfully done. Fairly realistic. Bond is not invincible anymore, maybe a tad over 'skilled' but no where near invincible.

The movie flows so nicely. The story line is deep, with twists and turns you wouldn't quite expect, and admittedly hard to follow at brief moments. But we are not idiots, and time is not wasted on overexplaining a situation. When it comes to the cards, the scenes are done wonderfully, and any poker player will appreciate it. Even those who know nothing about cards can easily follow along, because the game is still well explained.

The movie is rich, there are no dry parts, slow at times but definitly not dry. The poker game is no doubt long, but there is an interesting event thrown in to liven it up mid game.

Definitly a must see. This new Bond is by far the best. He is real, with all the charm of previous Bonds and the skills to match. I guess you could say he's like Beckham, all the guys wanna be him and all the girls wanna be with him. Daniel Craig is a cross between Pierce Brossman and Sean Conory. But his extra element of deep emotion is what makes him the best Bond ever.

There is no doubt in my mind that Daniel Craig is the best Bond yet, and I can't wait for the next movie.

GO SEE IT!

I don't know if this belongs in the General Lounge subforum or in the Off Topic subforum.

Did anyone else get to see this movie? I just came back from seeing it this evening. I liked it, Daniel Craig makes a good Bond. He wasn't as suave as Sean Connery, but being the first Bond movie of the series, it seems like a good fit. The torture scene was hilarious...albeit a little painful to watch.

It seemed a little confusing near the end, I didn't know who was who...new characters were suddenly introduced. It was all good though.

Just saw it last night. Awesome awesome flick. It was one of the better action movies I've seen in a long time.

Although, I don't understand why they set the whole thing in present time. It should have been set in the 60's since it was supposed to be a prequel. Oh well, that didn't take away from the movie though.

Kinda reminded me of Batman Begins - like a re-starting of the 007 franchise.

Casino Royale was one of Ian Fleming's best stories and this release was the best Bond movie yet! At the start of the film I was skeptical that Daniel Craig would be a good Bond - by the end of the movie I rated him the BEST BOND EVER. Go see the flick - The DB5 never looked better!

R5 means the quality is about 80% DVD. No Menu or Extras.

Hope that clarify the terminology. :)

BTW, R1 DVD means Retail Quality DVD.

lol.. again..

"Will the hype on DVD this weekend." <--- is that SENTENCE in english ;)

R1 is region 1 (US and Can) and R5 is actually region 5 (or that's how people usually classify DVDs, R2 is PAL for most of europe.. etc) that represents India, Africa, Russia and former USSR countries

anyway.. you must have a spoiler on your head ;)

"I will see the Hype on DVD this weekend" is that better?

Region 1 is North America, Region 2 Europe etc.

When referring to DVD quality, R1 means Retail Quality with Menus and Extras. R5 means Ripped DVD. R9 means Full DVD content.

Spoiler on my head, Nah just Loser Raptors Hat.

That scene was pretty funny... but fark, that would hurt. Still though, I laughed pretty hard. My wife thought I had finally gone insane.
