The blow-off valve just changes the sound, right? No actual performance change one way or the other?

I imagine it must suck to have a wicked fast turbo car without the abnoxious BOV sound. :D Definitely one of the first things I'd do as well. hehe. That's half the fun of a turbo.

Why do you need the timer though? I thought new cars didn't need that cool-down period anymore, or handled it on their own.

I don't assume you have any bogging issues with the VTA on the SSQV?

Looks good, but never brings you car to the dealership with that thing on, you void your warranty right there :P

It all depends on which dealer you take it to.

That's why I'm glad we bought our car at MoT. We should start a list of mod-friendly Mazda dealers.

Edit: Thread added here (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=15651)

Yes, untill Mazda Canada sends out a memo about the mods on Mazdaspeed 3's... My local dealer has a Mazda Canada representative coming in each 2 weeks and he has informed the dealer that if someone comes in with Mazdaspeed 3 that has a 3rd party blow off valve then the car is to be reported and their warranty to be void.

However, that's what I was told. Now if this is really going to happen, no clue. I'm more for a user-friendly dealer then another one following strict rules.

Always liked the look of the SSQV, but not the sound. I prefer the sound of the old Greddy Type-S.

Oh yeah, Mazda knows about it, they are working on the fix. Have them check it next time you go in, if you feel no power loss you should be fine.
