Hey guys,
I was thinking of getting the Vibrant CF exhaust...has anyone heard anything good/bad about it? and also when i looked at it it seems like it's just the muffler not the full exhaust...so how would it mount onto my car? i'd prolly have to weld the pipes right?

Yes I am confused too... I just looked into this a month ago and when I bought I didn't know they sold a cf one... but... even if they did it is more than I was looking for. Would still like to see a pic or two.

I think she is reffering to a Vibrant CF muffler like the one in the pic below;
http://img456.imageshack.us/img456/7662/hkscarbontida8.jpg
SM-M3; this is not a exhaust system, is just a muffler, you can cut the stock exhaust system just before the muffler and add this, but doing this your 3 will look like those rice civics with wallmart mufflers.
The best option is; if you want this muffler buy a Vibrant silencer beside the CF muffler and take it to a exhaust shop to get a custom made piping, recommended size for the 3 is 2.5", you can also get a high flow cat to replace the restrictive stock cat.
Or the best and easiest option is to get the real deal, a full exhaust system. There are a few available in the market.
This is the Vibrant one.

CTA Patrique can get it for you for arround $640-$650, PM him if you are interested.

Get the full cat back exhaust from Vibrant
the thing is, i haven't heard how the Vibrant one sounds..
I really really like the sound of the Mazdaspeed one...it's not too loud but it's loud enough and it's a nice low sound. So i'm more inclined to get the MS one just b/c i already know how it is...
Do you have the Vibrant one?

Kinda tired so it is low quality... Don't point out my mistakes :) lol.
I didn't rev it very high... but it gives you an idea what it would sound like when you start out of a lot or whatever...
You can hear branches hit the bottom of my car as I drive as there are lots of them down on lakeshore after the wind/rain today.
I also have the injen cai.

:) and to think the first 2 days I had a killer headache because I thought that was loud... Can't wait to hear yours!
That sounds really good.
Thank you! I was pleased with it... and when I emailed vibrant (from their webpage) to say thanks for a great product... they mailed me out the catalogue, a plate frame, 2 12" die cut stickers and 6 6" normal stickers. Talk about customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!

Louder! Holy crap! Maybe its due to my engine only having 1300km on it... I dunno... I doubt that would change the sound...

I'm not so worried about the loudness of an exhaust so much as how it sounds. I loved the sound of my 3" Borla on my SRT-4, however it was pretty loud. The ones I can't stand are the high pitched tin can sound ones, but those are usually the axle back types, not the CAT backs.
Vibrant makes a good sounding one in my opinion, let me know if you want pricing.

My parents still live in oakville, so if u guys have meets on weekends then I might be able to make it!
I heard the Mazdaspeed one...i drove an 07 sport w/ the mazdaspeed exhaust...and it sounds really nice...it's quiet but low...very nice sounding...haven't heard the vibrant in person tho...
i'm curious as to which one has better performance output?
i'm curious as to which one has better performance output?
I don't think anyone's butt can feel 1whp difference. ;D
That and altho they can be rated as having different whp output, it's never one number. It's a range. With that said, "it all depends" on the situation while driving with the aftermarket exhaust, which one will have "better performance output." Just my input here... ;)

Not sure on the HP difference, but the major differences are that they have different pipe diameters 2 1/4" for the Mazdaspeed vs. 2 5/8" for the Vibrant, and that the Vibrant includes a high flow CAT which the Mazdaspeed does not I believe, maybe someone can confirm?
Thanks

the mazdaspeed does not replace the factory cat. It's the same thing with the Borla, Magnaflow, Ark etc. It goes after the 2nd cat.
The only one that replace the factory cat with a high-flow cat is the Vibrant.
The HKS and Corksport are cat delete, meaning it completely replaces you OEM cat with a straight pipe. Trubendz and SCi are also like that but you can chose to have a high-flow cat instead of the straight pipe.
The Vibrant is the loudest of the bunch in my opinion. The Mazdaspeed, magnaflow and the HKS (sometimes) are the most silent ones.
Here's a few pics I took of the different options. Sorry didn't get a chance to make sound clips. Yes I'm a mazda3quebec member who vist your forum sometimes ;)
