I'm look to go back to the after 6 years.(i need to get in shape badly and I got 2 girls). Not looking for squash courts (never played) or pool (can't swim) and a place that's not that crowded. Anyone tried Oasis Fitness?

Those farkers are scam artists. Stay away. They tried to sue me and my best friend for non-payment of our respective accounts after we cancelled with 60 days notice. They took us to court, and got their asses handed to them, after their secretary screwed up and said she received the cancellation notice but didn't do anything with it.
They're about as shady as Bally Fitness. Avoid.

I've never been a member of a gym. I just jog for free. ;D

You can try the local Rec. Centre. But be warned, there's alot of losers WORKING there, that use the facility like their own country club.
This is what I did, visited all the gym around me, do the walk thru. ::)
Get those free 14-days (less at other places) trial membership cards, and use it.
Don't join right away! Give them your address and phone number. Say you want to check other gym out.
Watch out for their high pressure sales tactics and registration fees.
Wait for them to mail you their offer or them call you about their special.
Cherry pick the gym you want.

I've never been a member of a gym.* I just jog for free.* *;D
Unfortunately, jogging does nothing to build muscle (quite the opposite ;) ) and you miss out on many other positive physical improvements that you can only gain through resistance training.
As betrthnu said, where are you located? I've trained all over the city so if you let me know I can probably make a recomendation.
I've heard good things about Venice, if you are a bit further west in North York, Fitness Connection was renovated last year and is quite good. Located on Don Mills between lawrence and eglinton. I train there.
If you are further west in etobicoke, I think it's called fitness 24/7 (formerly monster gym) also has a lot of equipment. Used to have a membership there as well, when I was training with my powerlifting club.
Avoid Bally's like the plague.
I've heard that some of the renovated Extreme Fitness gyms aren't too bad, but never been.
I'd recommend avoiding signing up for personal training, as most of them barely know their ass from their face when it comes to advanced training. So other than the initial tour, and maybe showing you a few exercises, they aren't worth much.
Plenty of free advice online for training, but even there there is more garbage than good info. If you want some tips lemme know and I can give you some advice.
Last thing I'd say, is avoid magazines for your training advice as well. If you need some reputable internet forums with some smart members that you can read up on tons of training I can post that stuff as well.
Lol, I'm actually off to the gym now, so will check in later.

Arg, the one place I don't know much about, other than a couple bars.
Not sure if you commute to work, but I found having a gym near work was better than one near home if you have a drive through traffic.
It's easier to go to the gym directly from work with your gym bag packed, and then when you come out traffic is lighter. Sometimes if I go home before the gym, there isn't a spatula big enough to scrape my ass off the couch. ;D
Only thing I can suggest is maybe see if there is a goodlife there. It's the one chain that isn't too bad, although, it's still pretty softcore as far as it's freeweight area. But lots of locations, reasonable price. Just hit and miss on the quality depending on the location.

My cousin went to the gym at the centennial community center, and he thought it was pretty good.* Not sure if its still open with all the construction there.

There's one at markville mall, so its fairly close to him.
