There is no difference whether it be auto or not.
Alot of people have exhausts on their auto's. theres nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, your transmission doesn't affect your exhaust system. Sounds the same if it were on MT or AT.

I have a 2.3 auto and the Vibrant exhaust system and I tell you something when I'm on manual mode and I shift gears if I lift, the car sounds just like a manual.
As for the sound of the exhaust system, all really depends on the exhaust system that you choose.

we cannot tell you perse which one is the best..
different people like different sounds... and some have tome to like what they have and recommend that to you.
just come out to one of the meets.. and decide for yourself.

I personally like the sound of an exhaust on a manual better then the sound on an automatic.

I am really happy with my vibrant exhaust. I bought mine from Patrique. Great review!

Noise type is really person specific as to whether they'll like it.
However, I will say that the build quality is fantastic on the Vibrant CAT back.

This may be irrelevant,
My brother has a 2003 protege 5....and I purchased a magnaflow cat-back exhaust for it. Mind you...it's a 4-Speed Tiptronic(Auto). I will say it sound's very nice, it doesn't matter if it's auto or not. Just like CoolColombian said above, the car sound's just like a manual transmission with the Tip. Overall, like everyone else says; it doesn't matter whether it's Auto or Manual in my opinion. What matters is the exhaust you get for your car, all of them sound completely different.

The HKS is one of the sweetest sounding systems I've heard.

Mine sounds very nice now with the silencer. But mine is not the original bolt on cat back. Its custom made but I still think it sounds pretty sweet and i'm still lovin it.

I personally prefer the sound of an exhaust on a manual car. I think it has to do with being able to control the rpm's more. I own an automatic and have thought about getting an exhaust, but have decided not to as my wife and I are expecting our first little one in February.

What do you guy's think of a dual set-up?
Dual on a 3 looks amazing! go for it Joe!
will you be doing it to your current 3 or the mazdaspeed?
What do you guy's think of a dual set-up?
Make sure its functional (equal flow). It looks cool because its dual, but imho its kinda rice on a single side header engine like ours. The exhaust has one route and should stay in one route. V-8s have two headers and therefore two possible exhaust routes.
If you get a proper splitter instead of just cutting and welding on a second pipe I think it would be awesome Joe. I've been watching some shows on speedtv that are showcasing these new 1 to 2 mufflers that split off a single exhaust. Some guy on m3f has a dual.

I like the look, but this guy's isn't all that functional...

Speaking of duel exhaust,
I've seen a white pearl mazda 3 with a duel setup in woodbridge. View the attachments....i'm awfully sorry for the low quality, these pics were taken from my phone and I took a poor picture of the exhaust but if you look carefully you can see the tip on both ends. This is custom work and it's done at a place in woodbridge I went to....i've heard this car and it sounds insane.

yea, that guy use to be at some meets. 'The only dual'... Haven't seen him in a while... I think it was a magnaflow muffler with 2 magnaflow tips...
