Went to see AVICII last night, so basically anything by him has been on - he did some really great mixes that I can't find recordings of online, maybe someone will post some now that he did the concert - he did a great mix of rihanna's shine bright like a diamond :D

Edit: Found a pretty similar mix he did with diamond's, this ones not exactly the same, from what i can remember, but still thought he did a really good job

I was at the show too and I have to disagree with you. I have been a fan of EDM for a long time now and have been DJing for almost as long. His set was very basic and predictable. Musical interlude with overplayed vocals on top, then a random build up, then the drop of another song. I saw him at veld two years ago and that was one of my top 5 favourite sets of all time. It was a deep dark set that was very unique. Maybe my standards were too high lol. It could also be that I prefer to hear some heavier EDM live (I'll be buying tickets to the Skrillex show in a couple of weeks because im craving some filthy edm now lol) and he tended to play more "top 40" edm for the most part. I've also seen Deadmau5 and Swedish House Mafia at the Rogers Centre and I would say the Avicii show was the worst in terms of music. That being said the visuals and production value were awesome with the fireworks and pyrotechnics, and I really liked the openers.

On a side note, I was completely unimpressed with the demographic there. So many young immature people, and soooo messed up on drugs or alcohol. We got there at around 8 and people were already passed out or being carried out. People throwing up all over the place, it was disgusting. I definitely do not think those shows should be all ages. I saw an article the next day that over 30 people were hospitalized for drug or alcohol overdose. I've been to plenty of EDM events over the past 2.5 years, of course you will always see a few people who take things a little too far and make bad judgement calls, but that show was by far the worst. Just made me disappointed in our society, and disappointed for the music scene because most people that were there were not there for the music.

You should check out the Tiesto Club Life podcasts on iTunes. He's up to like 370 podcasts now or something crazy like that (I honestly dont know how he has the time to do everything he does) and his sets have a nice balance of progressive house and more electro/big room stuff.

I would recommend checking out Veld and Digital Dreams then! I've done both of those events the past two summers and they were awesome! Having multiple stages and a full day of big name DJs is overwhelming but the only way to go in my opinion lol. its a much more mature music loving crowd in my opinion, mostly only die hard edm music fans are willing to commit their entire long weekend and a decent chunk of change to a music festival. not a lot of pre pubescence in those events haha.

Linkin Park was farkin amazing, they played A LOT of old stuff which is what I was mainly wanting to hear , thy left the stage and came back for a 5 song encore when no one would leave!

30 seconds to mars put on a wicked show as we'll, their lead singer is amazing at getting in with the crowd.

Highlight of the night was watching a broad go ass over teA kettle trying to get to the 30 seconds to mars singer, she went down hard lol.

Hollerado's (totally underrated Canadian band) new album (White Paint)

Wife and I were in Paris about 3 weeks ago and met some random Canadian's at a cafe, turned out to be the lead singer and his wife. Super nice and we had a great time with then over some wine. They mentioned there were headed to London to play a show in 4 days at a small hole in the wall (think Sneaky Dee's but about 1/5th of the size) in Brixton which is to London what "North York" is to Toronto.

We were headed to London in a couple days so we said we'd go see the show....it was awesome.

Saw them and a smaller band from Northern Ireland called the Wood Burning Savages - who were also great! I'm predicting they will hit it big in N/America down the road - have a sort of Killers meets U2 vibe going on.

Album sounds good: check out satellites, dusted and the intro to Beelzebub. Lots of good solid songs.

I haven't touched my radio since I changed to a double din. I don't have presets or anything. I got a 120gb iPod and a full cd case. Having a CD Player is very handy too eh there FD22 ;).
