Nice Steven!

I still want to know how you were able to do your lights A4 style.

Did the mod already but the amber parking lights are off. I want the Audi A4 style where the ambers are on with the fogs.

Back in the summer, I was there when Xenon and CoolColumbian did this mod. If I remember correctly, the ambers could be turned on with the fogs as well i.e. A4 style.
Like this, right?

Or maybe I have my ambers mixed up.....

And in addition, you could have the ambers off, hence the "independent fog" phrase infront of the word "mod".

Maybe you did something wrong? Or maybe something got disconnected?

Edit:
I think the first turn of the knob was the fogs by themselves,
the next turn was fogs plus ambers,
and the third turn was hids, fogs and ambers together.

To Clarify:

The mod basically swaps the fog and low-beam wiring (ie. your low-beams are controlled by your foglight switch, and your fogs are controlled as if they were your low-beams).

The independent fog mod is STILL NECESSARY when doing this mod since fog lights turn off with your high beams (which in this case it will turn off your low-beams since the wiring tricks the car into thinking your fogs are your lowbeams). That way when you flash people at night, it will flash your hibeams but not quickly turn off your Low-beams (which your car thinks is your foglights)

so here is the lighing setup:
OFF - No Lights, unless parking break is off, then Fogs are DRLs (1/2 strength)
(.) - Ambers on, unless parking break is off, then fogs are DRLs (1/2 Strength)
ON - Ambers on, Fogs at FULL stregnth, NO lowbeam
ON with Fog switch ON - Full Headlight system
On with Fog switch ON & Highbeam - All Lights ON, Ambers, Fogs and Hi's

Mine work almost the same but...

OFF (with fogs turned to off) - No lights
OFF (with fogs turned to on) - Fog lights as drl.
(.) (with fogs turned to off) - Ambers only.
(.) (with fogs turned to on) - Ambers & Fog lights as drl.
ON (with fogs turned to off) - Ambers & HIDS
ON (with fogs turned to on) - Ambers & HIDS & fogs as drl.
ON (with fogs turned to on) & Highbeam - All Lights ON, Ambers, Fogs and Hi's

* Note I always leave my fogs set to on so I never have to worry about drl's.
** For the audi a4 style I just turn it up one notch and I have my drl fogs and ambers... I love it this way too!

if I'm not mistaken, blackman's setup is if you had independent side markers with the HID install. I think Jake-Tech installs the HIDs like this, I'm not sure if Lockdown does the same. If your installation was done this way, the hIDs are on it's own independent trigger and power source.

Generally, if your HID kit was installed using the side marker as a trigger (I think Devin installs it this way) then it is not possible to have the Audi-style setup.

Either way works. You just have to know how to turn the switches :P

Ya I had mine done @ lockdown. I don't know jack about hid's so I just told them to do what they've done for other mazda 3's.

If I remember correctly, Jeff @ Lockdown wrote up what he did somewhere before @TM3.com. at the 1st batch of installation for our 3s like mine, as described by Xenon low bean is on w/just turn on the amber, then later Jeff found the other way to install the way as blackman and others have done.
