I was happy to drop all the drama last week on TM3. Thread is locked, certain people blocked and we all move on.

But I found my signature edited today by the TM3 admin and mods WITHOUT an PM or email notifying me why it was removed. I expect to get even a one line message stating why my sig was removed.

My sig read:
"Finally Turd Free. I love it!" and a quote from one of the TM3 admins insulting me and calling me names.

Why was my signature removed? Is there no freedom of speech? I don't doubt that certain individuals on the TM3 team got all girlie and insecure on me and felt they were being attacked.

I have a dog, he poops out turd. I clean up after him.
My room is a mess, junk is everywhere, I call that turd.
I have a car, it gets dirty, I call the dirt, turd.

You see where I'm going with this. If everything is deemed offensive, then all that comes to mind is Thought Police and Big Brother is watching you. if TM3 is going to be this way, then kindly let me know and I will stop posting on this forum.

Come on TM3 team. Clean up your act. You have admins who lock threads for no reason an call it a joke. You have admins that publicly roast me using slang and swear words. You have admins with signatures that could be deemed offensive (Winning Blue is For Pussies, Jew Crew, the BIGGER, the BADDER...).

You want to pick on regular members, fine. But at least be nice enough to send me a PM about it. I'm not here to cause more drama, I thought we dropped everything, but I guess the TM3 team didn't feel it was resolved.

I wouldn't be surprised if this thread is locked. But I am ready for a civil conversation in thread about this if the TM3 admin team is.

The quote was insulting ME...if anything, I should find it insulting. If I called you a name and you use it in your signature, then I have a right to say that it offends me eventhough I wrote it and called you the name? You're kidding right?

Explain to me which part of my signature is offensive. I did not swear or use any inappropriate terms. So from what you're saying, as long as Admin or Mod "feels" like they are being attacked, they have the right to do whatever. Yes, what I quoted from you is true, but that is understood in the public sense where a post containing the offensive material is immediately modified or removed.

When it comes to personal profile tho, that should be where the line is crossed for an admin or mod to go in and edit it. Unless it is an obvious direct attack on an individual or group.

Back in the day, I had something offensive in my signature over on M3F ... one of the admins PM'ed me to remove it. They did not go in and touch my "personal profile" without my knowing.

This board is seriously getting outta hand. Too many power-trips or just plain misuse of the authority given as a privilege.

i'm on RR side this time. Same thing goes to me on M3F. My sig was tooo big and they just pm'ed me and told me to either delete it or shrink it instead of going thru my personal account and delete it or change it for me.

I feel the offending content even if in a signature should be removed immediately. Otherwise, in the case of a signature, the offending content would be present in every thread, until the user updated. What if it was 4-5 days, should the content still stay?

You must define what offensive means. Yes, I agree that Sabio's signature is pretty awesome...I mean inappropriate for the forums and it should be removed right away.

But how far will you go? If I wrote "Orange Sucks" in my signature, are you going to imply that I am insulting a certain member because he/she "thinks" I am?

Anyways, my effort to get a real explanation from the TM3 Admin team seems futile at this point. All I've gotten is a bunch of half answers with rules sometimes apply and sometimes don't.

For most members, I am probably tiring them out with my questioning of authority and to them, I apologize. However, I consider this thread reasonable/logical but so far the answers of the TM3 Admin team have been anything but.

Damn, when you see pics of the trip you'd realize that I would happily go back there! Let's just say that the uncle I was staying with has the following cars in his garage, among others:

I have raised so many questions here about treatment of members by the Admin team. First off, none of them have been answered. All we've gotten so far is "Rules are rules and sometimes rules will apply". How about an upfront response from yourself or the Admin team?

You keep going back to my threads and signature attacking you but everytime you fail to specify where. On the flip side (no pun intended to Flipspeed - just being correct since you never know around here), I bet you are slandering and insulting me behind closed doors over email or even in a private chat room on TM3. I've been around internet forums long enough to know that those exist.

This thread was not started to offend you or show you up. It was started to question what is deemd offensive on TM3 and what is not. You turned it into a RR vs Broli thread by playing that victim card, which I have zero interest in playing with you.

If the TM3 admin team wants this thread to be closed (which I am sure they do), then answer the questions raised instead of altering the thread. If you want public support and ideas on how to handle this, then ask for it, instead of giving half hearted answers with half the rules.

(P.S. - I had no issues with your avatar or signature. But since you called me out for an offensive signature, I am simply making a point by stating ANYTHING can be offensive if you let it be.)

Rule of thumb, if your boss saw it and it was deemed inappropriate, it probably is. In an age of political correctness, the best way is to read what you type twice before submitting, and simply ask "What would _____ think about this?" in the blank, put in your Pastor, your Mother, your Grandfather, your Sister, your Girlfriend, your Boyfriend, your Doctor.... etc.. Really, I do believe in free speech but if you would be embarassed by any of the above reading your post, then it should not have been posted.

The rules apply to everyone. I realize they may not have been, but the process to ensure that this is the case, is being worked on. No one should feel bad after they read a thread.

Who is accountable? You are. Every member has a responsiblitly to inform a Mod if something is taken as offence, although there are at least 2 mods on at anytime, not every post is read. So please, if something strikes you as a direct insult. Let me or any of the Mods/Admins know by PM.

If the problem lies in an Admin/Mod, it will be dealt with the same way. And the Admin/Mod team will be doing the enforcement.

so when that whole thing happened we threw a few ideas together and i believe we're still bouncing stuff of the walls and ironing kinks out but be assured those guidelines will be posted/refreshed soon.. i say guidelines for a reason or a two.. everyone will have a different reaction to each subject/thread but does that mean we have to censor it all? and as we found out, some things have been offensive to some folks while not to others..

i think the EASIEST guideline is, if it's safe for your boss, your mom and your 9 year old niece to view it then click the submit button..

you're right.. i guess we were hoping for everyone to behave.. we didn't need those rules at tm3.com and wham.. sabio's avatar and then vlad's NSFW cartoon and we got together threw ideas on the chalkboard but what we failed to do is communicate it all to the community (actually i believe that we were in the midst of doing so but we didn't want to sound too alarming) rest asure.. you'll hear from us soon ;) and that dog might just be offensive to the cat owners..

sorry bubbs.. we tend to get caught up in it as well and we have made an unwritten rule (i guess it *was* written cuz it was posted in the mod area.. anyway) that the mod in question be it between two mods or a mod and a memeber, would not be able to act on in the matter (power trip would be one of the reasons) so i'll msg some other mod and they will decide to kill this or let it go.. sounds good?

I must say I can’t remember it being offensive. If people are throwing out insults at red or anyone… I think it’s fair game to use it in a sig quote until people pick up on who is not a team player.
