I went to go see the movie at the Varsity Theatre at Bloor and Yonge. It is so good that I can't think of anything bad to say except that it is very graphic.

The movie is set during the end of the spanish civil war and it is english subtitled. The main character is a little girl who is going to the country side to live with her pregnant mother and an sadistic stepfather. Although 1/2 of the story is about the resistance vs facists, the other 1/2 is about the girl's entry into a fairy tale like realm.

It is violent and doesn't shy away from it, but it's not gory. Everyone who went with me felt it was really well done and I highly recommend going to see it while you still can.

The Varsity Theatre, 55 Bloor Street West is the ONLY theatre in Toronto area that is showing it.

There is a movie trailer for this movie attached to the yahoo site. Don't watch it as it has alot of spoilers. You will get alot more out of the movie if you only read the movie description and go see it.

I heard about this movie from a friend who highly recommends it as well.
Will definitely check this movie out when I get the chance.... It looks really cool, but the web site is pretty trippy! Kinda freeky

LOL yeah but remember it's not quite as good quality as the one in the theatre. I found the version online is a little fuzzy looking.
