It's amazing how a world class football player has signed for a team in a second tier league.

i bet you they paid him much more than real ;)
in the end it's all about the money..
Wow, can't say I'm surprised. It will be interesting to see how players stateside will stack up against Beckham. I'm not really a fan of him, but this could be a boost to North American soccer (maybe).

Salary wise he's getting a fraction of what Real pays him, but he'll get to keep all the money he makes from advertising which is huge.
He could of signed for any team in England, but him and his wife want to be part of Hollywood....haha

this is pretty shocking,
maybe his wife is pulling a "Mrs. Gretzky"
"i wanna be an actress . . . ."
blah
well, if soccer becomes big in the states, that would be cool

i am sure he is a devoted husband and father (and by sure i mean i have no clue ;))
lol good point. Totally a Gretzky move!

I think it has a lot to do with what Posh Spice wanted. Didn't his initial move to Spain have to do with her wanting to live there?

Ya...if you want to keep your family together the wise thing to do is pick them up and move them to Los Angeles where you don't have any distractions such as the press or fans hounding you at every turn.
:-)
My prediction is that their marriage will far apart within one year of being in L.A. Beckham has seen his best years behind him. I think this is more a marketing ploy for the team. Hopefully, this league won't become what the original N.A.S.L. was. A dumping ground for the top stars of the World when they can't find another team to play for.

$250 million US over 5 years for a player who is past his prime?
He must be laughing all the way to the bank, I'd give him this though, he has "brand power" might make some serious coin for LA Galaxy, so that $250 million might turn out to be a bargain!
My bad its actually $275 million:

I can't say I often agree with a former Man Yoo player but he is damn right about this:
""To play with Zinedine Zidane was the biggest honour I have had in my career"

It was a long time rumor for about a yr or so, finally comes true
Lol, i forgot what sport show it was, but one guy calls in and says "it will be great for the league's recognition". So they're like "so he'll be the best in the league right?" "Can anyone name the second or third best?"
In the end. Its just money for Beck and local shopping for Ms. Spice.
