Sorry to bump such an old thread, but wanted to see if any fellow TM3ers have any suggestions on rear view cameras. There are a ton of Asian sellers on ebay with generic ones, then there are the Boyo brand cameras that come highly recommended from members on Avic411, and then there are the expensive Pioneer camera.

Anyone have any good experiences with a particular camera? Are there any local sellers that carry them?

Wal-Mart has them on clearance for $69.00. Dunno the brand though.

the OEM backup camera's Alpine/Pioneer etc, are expensive ~$200. Your best bet might be a car audio shop such as Audio Heaven.
That said, I have the pioneer OEM one, and don't find it very useful.

There's a sale at Canadian Tire for a GPS w/back up camera. I think it's their own brand "Nextar" for $250. Any opinions on this one? Good or bad?

Do you have the one with parking assist? (ND-BC20PA) That would be the only reason I would want to get the Pioneer one.

no. I don't think my head unit Avic-Z3 supports this feature. I have the Nd-BC01

It doesn't. You have to add it as an aftermarket upgrade.
