media authoring help

k peeps, ive tried a few things....and majic's help wiht nero recode didn't fit teh bill...

here's the dealio..
i have me a HDD camcorder, which outputs files into .mod format
to change them into mpg all ihave to do is rename the file ending...no biggie

now my problem is....for example...

i have a one minute long video, which was recorded in the lowest setting, and its 15megs....i would like to shrink this filesize down to a resonable size used for mainly uploading to the net for forums purposes (youtube, etc...) yes i know quality will be lost..
so my question is, off top of your heads....any program out there i can use to shrink down these mpg files to a resonable MB size?

I have this program that will let you convert it and lower the size.

hmm, I guess I could use an ipod video converter program...

Well the program i use can convert stull to ipod, psp, mp4, 3gp. All of those will let you shrink the file size to what you need.

quite shitty, being as its a camcorder...but the 32X zoom is nice

its liek the vid quality on a digi cam...its not the main function of the unit....but it does the job in a pinch!

jus tried it..took about 4megs off the 25meg file...
i guess their sonly so much an authoring program can do!

Windows Movie Maker .... comes with winblows XP and it works quite well
