Well I'm sure most of you guys know that i know nothing about audio/video.
After seeing the dash kit now i really want to look into putting the deck in.
Now my question is, i really want to get a nav deck but i have no idea which one is good and i don't want to spend toooo much. The real deal for me to get one is for the sake of having one, thats all.
So if you have any suggestions (with price if possible), throw them in.
thanks a million.
Edit* Would also like to know where i can find it so i can take a look at it in person.

I know that alot of people have the Pioneer AVIC - N2. But there is supposed to be a newer version out? the N3?

It's got all the stuff people want built into it.

Well you want it for looks right? But do you have a custom deck already? Alot of people have "All in one" systems or just something for Audio Video.
I think Mazda_3 (Dan) has the above mentioned Pioneer flip deck.
Nav is great, I wouldn't want to get something expensive like this and NOT have one. Otherwise you might as well buy a 70 dollar portable LCD DVD player and jury rigg it into your car.
What's your budget?

Well thinking now that i'm mostly in town and hardly going ot use the nav. I think i might just stick with video.
I'm looking into this one right now

That's fine. just have a look at the other options and consider what it means to have more features or brighter screen? What does it look like during the day with full sun shining on it?
Don't forget you can get some pretty decent car-puter packages as well that will give you everything and more.

Ouch, that's super cheap. Do they have any pictures of what it will look like?

Pearly you could wait till mid year and get the AVIC-D3 for around $1300 which has it all, navi, DVD, etc.
Or get the new AVH-P4900 or P5900DVD for around a $1000 which don't have the nav option.
Take a look here (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/portable-media/pioneer-avicd3-car-navigation-system-for-discount-drivers-226735.php) and here (http://cellphones.engadget.com/2007/01/08/pioneer-announces-in-car-avh-p4900-5900dvd-entertainment-syste/)

Check out this site: http://www.short-circuit.com/categories/carpc.html
Although I only bought my screen from them, notice the overall cost if you bought everything.
You could build a touch screen system for around 1k that plays videos, has gps, internet.

Thanks CC, that Avic D3 sure is cheap in price. Its a touch screen right? I do'nt know if i can hold off till mid year. Kind of anxious. I'll see how the budget goes along the way.

the D2 is a good deck. You can check out www.avic411.com for additional reviews of pioneer decks.

Its good but it doesn't play DVDs, which put it out of the game on these days.
If you have a play station or an Xbox sitting around at home you can hook it up to the D2 and that way play DVD movies or videos or get any other DVD player like this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PYLE-IN-DASH-MOBILE-CAR-DVD-CD-MP3-PLAYER-RECEIVER_W0QQitemZ180077625475QQihZ008QQcategoryZ7 9835QQtcZphotoQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and hide it.
