View Full Version : IDE Hard Drive talk
I'm PM'ing a seller in another forum regarding a "bundle" of hard drives. I only want one of the two drives but he's firm on selling both together.
The only specs I have so far are "Western Digital 40GB 7200RPM IDE"
PM me if you're interested to get this drive and I'll work things out with the seller.
I'll re-update this post with further details once he replies my PM!

I happen to have a 40 gb Maxtor drive at home that I just replaced. I'll let it go for cheap.... of course, it's giving off some errors about spin-up rate and some bad sectors and stuff... but hey... how bad could that be? ;)
That's going to make the uncensored pr0n become censored! That's almost as bad as watching pr0n on Vista - It'll delete it before you even get a chance to find it! :D

Never buy used hard drives. They are designed to last for 5 years TOPS and that's if you're using a quality brand. If you're hard drive works for more then 5 years consider it a miracle. I'm just curious as to why you're shoping around for a 40gig? With today's prices on hard drives you can upsize a considerable amount without whipping out too much extra money. If you don't mind me asking, how much is he asking for it?
lol then all three of my current Maxtor drives are miracles! Unfortunately they're like 6GB, 13GB, and 40GB ... the drive i want is Maxtor 80GB @ $30. The WD is $20.
I DON'T want to spend at least $80 for a new hard drive. My PC is not high in my priorities like it was "back in the day" :D

Those are good prices, that's how much they are worth. I currently have two hard drives i'm running, a WD 160gig and a WD 320gig. I need to upgrade soon i'm running out of space...

I got a western digital Ibook 500GB external at Staples in cobourg (my home town)... The short story is that I saw it and it looked to be marked down.... and I have always wanted an external... mainly for porn. I mean music and "entertainment".... they mis-priced it at 150..... I grabbed it and ran!

Not a fan of maxtor though. I have one in my computer right now, a 250 gig and its always been giving me problems. My other 250 gig WD was much much better, 3 years and no problems at all.
