Date is set for 7-7-7
July 7 2007

next question!

a proposal is to start in montreal, and cruise to tremblant area, one of the quebec members lives close by, and has graciously invited people to stop for a bbq there, and even to use his back yard (lots of space) as a campground for the night!

clubs are 15 mins away
pool and bowling are 15 mins away

so that is a poteintial option!

please post up and let us know if you are interested in camping for a night

we are also looking into renting a large chalet (or a few) and crashing there, since it is off season, we may get some good rates!!

so let me know what you think in this thread

Im up for gettin a chalet with people as the rates should be very good being the time of year. But then again I'm up for almost anything.

oaktownballer

you want the chalet cause its better to bring the girls you pick up in the club back to the chalet!

lol

Exactly how many girls will really come back with you when your like "lets go party in my tent" LOL. No but really I just like the comfort level of being in a chalet rather than tent but I dont care either way.

There is also a Super Motel 8 Facility in the area where the BBQ will be if anyone want a motel room instead of sleeping in a tent. :P

If so, I guess that the camping will be used by us, mtl guys...

I'm sure that tremblant girls like it more exotic... a tent is way much exotic than a motel :P

hahahahahhah

Yes it is. August 11th.

Edit: I don't care either way on accomodations... I don't mind camping, but I'd prefer a chalet if the rates are good.

Are there any locations for this meet in the City of Montreal or the suburbs. I don't mind driving 6 hours for the weekend. Driving any further up north may be a little to much. I've been to Tremblant 5 times for skiing. It's a great town but they don't like the Anglo's as I've already experienced. LOL! Are there any alternate locations you have in mind. Location and distance may play a factor for us Toronto guys. See what you can come up and let us know. I'm definitely interested in coming since last year in Ottawa was fun.

Hey Guys, I will be posting "Chalets" & "Hotel" prices this weekend for your guys to know how much is what.

I would need to know how many want to actually rent a chalets for the meet?

PierreB
03-12-2007, 02:18 AM
Hey guys here are the first prices I got on hotels and chalets.

15-20 minutes away from Saint-Sauveur:

Chalets Chanteclair Ste-Agathes-Des-Monts: Chalets for 6 peoples. 3 Rooms, 3 bathrooms: $969.90 taxes included fopr a weekend. (http://www.Chalets.ca)

Chalets Val-Clair a Val-David: Chalets 3 Rooms, weekend price $450. (http://www.chaletsvalclair.com)

Super 8 Motel Ste-Agathe: $86.95 per nite 2 people per room. (http://www.super8steagathe.com) Includes swimmingpool, continental breakfast.

In Saint-Sauveur:

Travel Lodge Saint-Sauveur: $129 + taxes per night (Room is for 4 people) (http://www.travelodge.ca/) Continental breakfast.

I tried looking for chalets around saint-sauveur and prices we're around $800 per weekend as no one does nightly stays in that area.

Hope it helps everyone. Just let me know if there is anything else I should look for.

I am a little worried from my talks with some people in toronto, they seem to be against increasing the lenght of the drive to montreal and then tremblant!

when we start the roll call in may, if we don't have a good turnout, perhaps we will need to think about some things

Just a note that where the BBQ will take place (if it is taking place) is 35KM from Tremblant. It really depends on where you really want to do the meet.

Montreal is nice, but it is building after building, nice air up north with some nice views, trees and so on.

i am just worried about numbers, i wouldn't want no toronto people to show up.

i hope i am wrong, just the feeling i am getting at the meets.

Another option would in around the Thousand island area!

Broli
04-20-2007, 03:56 PM
something like that would be awesome, but who could organize it, do we have anyone there?

MidnightSpeed

Thousand Island would be nice, more scenic, peaceful, serene really.

Gizzmo_jr
04-22-2007, 11:26 AM
Oh shit, guess that's my area.
There's a spot, right by the Gananoque Boat lines. It's where they do the 1000 Island Festival (if anyone has been). And in the spring/fall they have a car show there too.

Basically its a big flat area, some grass, some paved. I know there's good spots for BBQ and should be some picnic tables set up. I'll scout it out next time i'm out for a spin and take some digi shots. But this wouldn't cover camping. Although noted, Holiday Inn Express and a few others are 10-15min drive through town.

MicroDude
04-23-2007, 05:04 PM
so any news? if you guys want to do it there i'm up for it! it be closer for everyone.. just need somehting to do.. i man even if we don't have a drive or whatever just a nice day outside checking out cars and then going out to eat somewhere i'd be up for that! Broli hit me up with an email to let me know!

Broli
04-23-2007, 05:09 PM
well, i will do some research on that, on wednesday, and see what i can find out about that area, i will shoot u an email after i have done some research, is that cool Bruno?

for accomodatations in the area, we could just rent a few cottages out for the weekend.

i am sure we would get increased numbers in that case.

MicroDude
04-23-2007, 05:19 PM
let me know! could be fun.. don't even need to spend the weekend it's only a few hours away so the drive isn't that bad.. if we can set up a bbq it'd be great! and we could organize activites or something i don't know that area very much either let me know when you get more info!

Broli
04-23-2007, 05:29 PM
well, what could happen is, those who want to stay, stay, those who want to just come for a day, come for a day, and we have a bbq at a cottage, and have the meet closeby somewhere, cruise . . . well that may be left to spur of the moment, unless some of us can get up there and set up a route

Broli
04-25-2007, 03:57 PM
what if we could get a place like this

big cottage meeting center kinda place (http://www.cottagesincanada.com/canadaclub/default.asp?lang=e)

Map to Perth (http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=perth+ontario&layer=&ie=UTF8&z=9&ll=44.918626,-76.249237&spn=0.954929,1.851196&om=1)

we could charge based on days everyone is staying

i.e, those coming for one day, pay half those that stay for two

there are probably other big cottage-type places in the region, this is an example

what do people think of that?

S.F.W.
04-25-2007, 04:08 PM
I'd be in for the cottage plan.

Broli
04-25-2007, 04:19 PM

Hypothrml

Waiting to see what happens but as of now, the Ottawa guys have dropped out of the Inter-Club Meet (we don't agree on the changes that have happened to this meet) and we'll be holding a Summer Mega Meet for the Ottawa guys sometime this summer, but anyone who wants to come from TO or Mtl are more then welcome.

roge
04-28-2007, 06:56 PM
Hi everyone.

This is roge from Mazda3quebec.

I think there's a major misunderstanding as to the location of the meet.

We are not going to Mt-Tremblant!!! In fact we were planning the meet in St-Sauveur, which is around 35min from Mtl or 61km per google maps. :)

Tremblant is another 40min further up north which is not where we are going.

http://maps.google.ca/?q=St-Sauveur+Quebec+Canada
http://www.saint-sauveur.net/st-sau-an/index_html

Now why did we pick St-Sauveur: Last year we had a great time in Ottawa. I believe everyone had a blast doing the scenic drive in the Gatineau area. But Montreal is an island, so we don't have big open roads but have plenty of potholes.

So this year we decided that instead of doing a scenic drive to nowhere, we will do a short scenic drive up north. St-Sauveur is a tourist area and the road there is very nice. All highway thru the mountains. We were planning to meet up in Mtl, chat a little and then drive up north. 30+ mazda3 driving on the twisty mountain roads should be fun. And at the end of the road trip we will have a BBQ and people can stay there overnight. This is not that much different from driving in the Gatineau area like we did last year.

Let me know what you guys think before we decide to change plans.

Broli
04-30-2007, 01:32 PM
Roge, it doesn't sound bad at all, but if no one comes from here ... it would be unfortunate

i am not sure if things are patchable this year.

perhaps we should scrap the meet this year, and reset it next year to ottawa, they are the lucky guys in the middle so they can get the luck of hosting it. (at least for a few years, so it gets well established)

when people feel like they have to make this meet because it can't be missed . . . well that is when we can start to move it around.

for this year, perhaps just have some extra meets, i.e after MOTM, if people are down for the weekend, we can have a meet/cruise/dinner when the QC guys and OMC guys have their big meets we can all be invited.

lets regain the good ties we all had together.

just a suggestion, but lets have some thought on that?

MicroDude
04-30-2007, 03:12 PM
things are good ;) everything is fixed.. i mean we can see when ottawa is having their big meet this summer and we could just go there like last year and take the battle of the capital next year.. i dunno whatever i'm fine with it.. i just don't want things to get sour between the clubs!

roge
04-30-2007, 08:00 PM
ok Broli.

I had a few PM with Swales/Becks/Jamie from OMC and everything is fine.

But it's fine if we postpone till next year. We had a few sponsors for this year already but I'm sure we can have them sponsor the QC club meet instead.

I'm in for sure for MOTM. And if possible I'm probably taking a day off from work so I can drive down to TO on friday.

Tric

Should look somewhere in the Picton "Sandbanks Area" or Kingston area

Broli

you guys can decide on what to do!

It's sad to hear that the meet most likely won't happen this year. I know The Ottawa guys will still be having a Summer Meet this year were we will be having a bbq, doing a cruise and going to the drag strip so if anyone from TO or Mtl wants to come they are more then welcome.
