Deadly 18-vehicle pileup shuts busy Ont. highway
Emergency crews recovered two bodies and were searching for others Thursday night in the burned-out wreckage of an 18-vehicle pileup, which shut down a stretch of busy Highway 401 east of Toronto.
The accident, which occurred just east of Cobourg at about 12:20 p.m. ET included two transport trucks and a tanker truck, which exploded.

Two bodies were removed from the scene in early afternoon, but crews were continuing to search for other possible victims in the evening, Const. Pam Higham of the Ontario Provincial Police told CBC News Online.
Another 10 or 11 people went to hospital with injuries, Higham said.
She said police have closed a 16-kilometre stretch of the snow-swept highway, between Cobourg and the town of Grafton. All lanes are expected to be closed until Friday...
