What's "Pho"? :S
Pho [pronounced fuh, or fur] is vietnamese beef noodle soup that has existed over more than 90 years. People believed it may have originated from the french's feu [a type of soup] when they colonised Vietnam.
Pho is perfect for any time of the day, lunch or dinner. There are over 20 different pho's made with the best tasting beef broth ever, which goes well with any kind of meat, although beef is preffered. The Vietnamese pho houses I've been to around Australia recommend rare beef [it'll be cooked with the broth in your bowl], although well done beef can also be used if you want to make sure. Pho is made up of a combination of meat pieces [beef, chicken, etc.], meatballs, herbs, chilli [plain chilli or sauce], lemon/lime to give it the sweet and sour taste, hoison [a rich thick brown sauce], white rice noodle's, and a fantastic broth which takes hours to cook.
To make the soup, you will need some onions, ginger, beef bones, star anise, and some other ingredients.. they are the main ingredients I know, I'm no chef myself . If you ever come across an area where they sell pho, and you haven't tried it, I recommend you do try it. It tastes better than it looks.

As much as I love Pho I'm gonna pass, but two places I recommend (I personally like them);

- VIP Restaurant in First Markham Place (in the "second" building outside of and detached from the Chinese-mall building)
- Pho Viet at the north-west corner of Warden and Steeles

If you guys do a downtown Pho meet, I would be so in. My recommendation for Pho in downtown T.O. would be Fire Engine Pho at Spadina&Dundas, and Mi Mi on Gerrard&Degrassi or Pho88 at Gerrard&Broadview.

2 things I look for in a good Pho:

1. Fresh noodles!, none of that dry stuff that they cook on the spot.
2. When you order the Dac Biet style, no restaurant ever makes the pork right. It always tastes like its over cooked and bland.

Otherwise enjoy, and have a Pho-King good time ppl.

The Laughing Cow (350 Spadina Avenue) is awesome... 5 bucks gets you a pretty decent sized bowl of noodles. Best place for noodles, go there all the time.

Okay I have to crop the participants to 8. I'm pretty sure the biggest table I saw there seated 8 people.

First post updated. If anyone else wants to join in you will have to sit separetly.

So 8 people, at 8 p.m. on February the 8. Is 888 a lucky number?:)

Good turnout guys. Haven't downed an XL Pho in a long time. As for scoring the food I think we should just leave it as a Pho meet and not a tasting team meet.

Stacie we saved you a seat but you took too long gettin' ur hair done.:D At least you made it down afterwards with your friend.

Next meet should be a all-you-can-eat meet where we should go restauraunt hopping.
