You want to just put in a muffler? No midpipe? or you're going for a full exhuast system?

I have Vibrant Cat-back and I love the sound.

Therefore, I would recommend Vibrant for your exhaust MOD.

I'm gonna go Mazdaspeed.
Its dealer,
it sounds nice.
Joe can obviouisly
get you a good price.

Now for the non poetics. Get a full cat back, don't bother with just a muffler.

yeah i was thinking probley going cat-bak or just the full exhuast.. how big is our stock piping? how big should i go (again i dont want it to be so loud)? what kind of gains can i expect? how much is the mazdaspeed cat bak with muffler?...

Hey there zoom3,

My biggest seller, and the one that people seem the happiest with is the Vibrant Cat Back. Unlike the vast majority of other systems it also replaces the CAT with a High Flow version. That alone is worth it since CAT's are quite expensive. The system also looks great, has a nice sound and also is from a Canadian company :)

The system tubing is 2 3/8" OD.

I'm getting so many questions on it that I'm going to be running a group buy for them in about 3-4 weeks. Let me know if you're interested (and anyone else) and I might be persuaded to start it a little earlier :)

how much is the approximate price for the exhuast system? and how much of a gain can be expected on avg?

How much would the speed catback go for? any significant gains?

Here's the link to the last group buy I did on the Vibrant CAT Back. I'm hoping to negotiate a little better price this time around :) As always, there will be tiered pricing based on how many sign up. Those who bought last time will vouch for me that I looked after them :) Keep in mind too that all my sales come with an invoice and full factory warranty. And since Vibrant is located in Mississauga, the warranty is great for us guys here.

As far as gains go, really depends but you could count on about 5-10hp.

If I'm not mistaken you're looking at around 500$, the Vibrant runs at about 700$, but those are ball parks.

+1 I looked at all the options, vibrant had the best sound. And as someone pointed out, comes with a high flow cat.

Isn't like a 200$ differance, I like the tone of the Mazdaspeed also. Both nice a low.

That's true, though I don't know if the mazdaspeed comes with the hi-flow cat.

I don't think so.

The Mazdaspeed does not come with a high flow CAT, and it is also smaller dimension piping than the Vibrant.

Not saying that the Mazdaspeed is not a good unit though :)

I can't help but think that 2.5" might be a bit big for a 2.3L NA engine. That's what I'm running but I've got a 2.4L with boost.

Custom is the way to go if you know exactly what you want. The nice thing about getting a pre-fab kit is that you can go and listen to it on another car and then go out and buy the same thing. Someone else has put the effort into figuring out what you need and you just have to put it on. That's often a good option, once you've got people ahead of you who can tell you what it's like. :)

Note... mine is also completely custom. :)

Mine is custom as well. Also with 2.5" piping. The main reason i went custom is i want to be different and also want to keep the cat since i only want the HKS cat back. But in the end i did take out the 2nd cat and added a silencer which made it cost more then the original catback. But nonetheless i'm still so satisfied with my cars exhaust. Loud, but i really like the racing (ricey) sound.

I think I paid just over $800 for mine. That included the header installation (I had the header already) and the full exhaust, including cat, resonator, muffler and tip.

Yeah, there's more damage on the rear quarter there that's no so obvious. I'll get that all fixed up when I get the bottom of the doors cleaned up. Then the car will go away for a while.

And hey... it's mad cornering downforce, yo!!

Does anyone know if there is a silencer available for this system. I've already contacted Vibrant regarding this inquiry, but I wonder if anyone knows firsthand?

Thanks.
