It has anything and everything!

Started in 2001, it currently contains 1,623,256 articles.

Wikipedia was launched as an English language project on January 15, 2001, as a complement to Nupedia, an expert-written and now defunct encyclopedia. The project is now operated by the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization created by Larry Sanger and Jimmy Wales,[2] and has over six million articles in 250 languages,[1] including 1.6 million in the English-language edition.

Wikipedia has steadily risen in popularity since its inception[3] and currently ranks among the twelve most-visited websites worldwide.

Note that it is within, among others, the category of "Station Wagons". :)

Note that it doesn't even mention the words "station wagon" in the body of the text - just hatchbacks and sedans.

I'm just impressed with every search I do, wiki has the results. And most of the time, very precise and accurate.

Just curious. It's been a long time since I had to write a paper. Are you permitted to use and cite Wiki in your footnotes?

Technically its not a credible source, it depends on the professor. For this particular paper my actual sources were news items from Daily Planet and the Washington post.

Not if you're doing what I'm doing.

That's one of the worse things you can use.

It's all about the published journal articles! =)

wiki is pro

to bad its not considered a reliable source and citing it would fail me lol.

It's been useful for me in the past but as others have stated, it cannot be used as fact.

The reason for this is because it's all user-created so there's no telling whether what you're reading is true or not.

On top of that, it can change from day to day so you could just make something up and then cite Wiki as the source. If someone tried to verify it, you can just say someone must have changed it.

Definitely an excellent reference source though!
