I'm in the market for a 19 inch widescreen LCD, upgrading from 17 inch LCD. The reason is i really like using widescreen. Also this 17 will be given to my little bro for using dual monitor. The 2 i'm looking at are

So $199 for acer 19inch
$269 for samsung 19inch
The samsung obviously have better specs then the acer.
So my question is, which one would you guys prefer?
Or any other LCDs you guys will suggest?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

it's great.
I bought the samsung one not too long ago @ cc. I love it.
+ 1 for the samsung over the acer. However the last few samsung products I have had have been defective. So I am not sure if I would go samsung again.
I have this one and I am happy.

LCD monitors have a 3 year warranty.. should be okay..
my LG has a direct swap warranty. I get a new one if mine needs repairs within 3 years.
damn.. i feel sorry for the computer sales guys who has to sell warranties on this.

Thats teh thing. If there are dead pixels I doubt CC will exchange it for me. But FS will be hassle free with exchanges. But FS don't sell that model. :(

tell cc if they don't do exhange.. you will return.
and then buy at another location
usually works with fs anyway

I highly doubt CC will let me return it just becasue of 2 dead pixels. As soon as its open they do'nt care anymore. But FS will let me do anything within 30 days. Thats what i really like

you're wasting $ upgrading from 17" to 19" but i'd go samsung if you had to throw money away..

The reason is i do'nt want to go any bigger then 19. My desk is small and it wo'nt fit a 20. And i only sit about 1-2 feet away from my monitor so 20+ will be too big. On the other hand, my lil bro is tired from looking at his 14 inch laptop monitor so he wants my 17 inch for dual monitor.
this is how my desk looks like

my brother and I both had problems with the exact acer monitor before so I'm pretty hesitant to go acer again..
on the other hand, we've both never had any problems with samsung.. I have a 19" widescreen samsung and it's an awesome monitor.. so I'd go with samsung all the way..
oh, and I thought I heard that FS won't accept exchanges with lcds if there are less than x number of dead pixels.. I can't remember the exact number right now.. so you might want to ask those guys at FS first before buying from them.. altho, those sales guys may say anything to get the sale..

Well DP will be seen right away. And plus, FS offers 30 days return policy so if anything happens and they dont' exchange, i'd just return it and get my moola back
