Many have told me that it will rub, (front and rear)no matter what, especially on sportlines.....
but the rear there is no rubbing what so ever, and the front rubbing only when turning all over.....

Don't get me wrong i am still going to change the tires to 225 40 18, but i just wanted to see what they will look before the snow hits....

Damn, looking good! NO WHEEL GAP IS SICK!!!!

Just regular driving you probably wont rub because your camber is so out.

Look how close the fender is in this pic though, if you are forced to take a turn fast or decide to what the heck shoot it around the corner, it looks like it will rub. When the car leans is when it will do it, maybe not as bad for you though since your springs are quite stiff. Any plans to correct your camber? it may not rub still because correcting the camber will increase the gap a touch.

when i change the tires to 225 40 18, at the same time i will get the eibach camber kit and adjust them accordingly, so i could adjust them to be close to stock or even try to be at stock...and at the same time make sure it cambered enough that it wont rub

Looking very nice but I am sure that even without lowering springs the 45 profile will rub once you load the car with passengers. Way too low for my tastes but I am boring and have driven on my RX8 rims without lowering for 2 years now.

Why would you say that? So long as the offset is correct it should be fine. The Mazdaspeed3 uses 215/45/18's and is slightly lower than the regular 3 and obviously doesn't rub. Are the fenders different on the speed3?

This car is also too low for my tastes... and may rub because of it, but I don't think the tire size in itself should cause rubbing.

Of course, it's still wrong and I'd never recommend you use those tires. :)

RedRaptor

Weasel, I say that because way back when I got RX8 rims for my ride, I talked to many M3F members who got their rims straight from RX8s with the stock tire 225/45/18. On stock height, all them reported rubbing in one way or another. However they all said that they couldn't afford the right tires then and would switch to 225/40/18 later.

Putting RX8 rims on Mazda3s was a fad 3 years ago...

I love the look man!

I want a set of RX-8 rims for my 3.

Steven
02-13-2007, 05:27 PM
well i am not planning to keep these 225 45 18...i know that will rub somehow, and plus my speedometer will be off.... i am going to change them to 225 40 18, but i just want to see how it will look on the car....215 40 18, are too expense.....could any one get a deal on that tire size? let me know

i still love the low look, and you may think that the ride is really bad, think again... it's not as bad as you think!!!

You better not hit any pot holes...common sense tells me it's going to break something..i'm just not quite sure what yet...they don't look bad it's just that there IS such a thing as too low for comfort

What tires did you go with this time... and whats happening with the Bridgestones?

Awsome buddy! Car looks tricked! Awsome drop! awsome rims and love the hid fogs too ;) I personally love the grille and would be awsome if you paired it up with the GV lip! The grille/lip combo from SSG makes the "Station Wagons" look sooooo awsome! yes I said it... station wagon! :)
