ya thats me, mr plow. Ive been put on notice about this storm everyone is talkin about. latest we know, 30-50 cm for halton (burlington more than anyone) stoney creek hamilton. Peel will get upwards of 20cm starting tonite at 8pm and calming down by noonish tomorrow. Just a heads up for anyone driving to work tomorrow, LEAVE NOW, and you might make it on time. Everyone drive safe, and keep your 3's in one piece!

Ill post updates as i get them. Anyone who shops at home depot brampton, feel free to gaze at incredible plow job. And if u see a JOHNY DEERE cruising anywhere onthe 410 south of steeles or the 401 from 410 - 10, thats my on route!

Fish-tailing, sliding, drifting, its all the same on snow. The only thing our car can't do is power slide (anyone convert it to RWD yet?).

I just walked across the parking lot and its getting slick, come on, someone out there wants to meet!

A meet where abouts? Actually no... It would take me hours to get there down lakeshore. So slow when it snows.

Have access to a rwd miata that'd be fun in the snow :)

Yeah, I drove in this morning with no issues. It was slow going as you'd expect, but nothing terrible. I stayed off the highways though.

I wasn't so much ploughing snow as I was just shaving off all the high spots... :)

It wasn't that bad at all. But it's still coming down. Its just slow as you'd expect, which is a good thing in this weather.

I am SO bitter right now.

So I decided to be a trooper and wake up this morning so that I could write my pathology exam. So yeah, I wake up, get dressed, then as I leave the house, I notice that the snow on my driveway is up to/passed my knees. Now, some of you may call me short, but I am not THAT short, and seriously, there was THAT much! So I think to myself, there is NO way I'm going to shovel this, so what do I do? I put the petal to the metal and just plow my way out of my driveway. Burned a whole lot of gas, but it saved me time, and off I headed towards school. So I get 30 seconds past my house. I get stuck making a left at the stop sign. Finally get out, and get stuck at a second stop sign another 30 seconds away. After gunning it and gunning it AND GUNNING IT, I finally get out of mess number (whatever number I'm at now), and head towards the highway. So on the on ramp, I'm fishtailing everywhere, as it is not shovelled, and the snow is rather high as well (just not as high as what was on my driveway), so finally I merge into the middle lane on the 401, and all is pretty well. That lane was prettymuch clear, except for the blowing snow, but that was fine. On my trek on the highway, I passed maybe 8 vehicles on the side of the highway, all of them totalled. So finally, after all that, I make it to my first class (2 minutes early!) and my second class, and wrote my exam in my third class, then left for the day. On my way home, was a smidge better than this morning, but still horrible, since the roads still haven't been plowed. In my highway travels, 3 trucks were perpendicular to the highway for the people going the other direction (i.e. 401W), so that side was prettymuch jammed to the max. Every time I had to brake due to some douche, I started fishtailing, but luckily kept control. Finally, I got home, but only to remember that I had to shovel all the snow that had built up over the night, so after just over 1 1/2 hours of shovelling, here I am ranting about it.
Now, I've been through worse, and I've had to shovel more snow than that since I moved here (management shovelled my driveway at my old house), but I just felt like sharing and letting out some steam.
Now, I have to study for an exam I have to write tomorrow - embryology. How fun.......

What strikes me is that Guelph didn't get it that bad at all. It was bad, but nothing compared to here. Usually it's the other way around, so I'm not surprised they didn't close the university.

Ok, I'm done.... for now.

How low did you go?

He's on tannabe's... so around 2 1/2 inches front and back. He can give you the exact measurements. But I'm not surprised he couldn't clear anything. =P

3GFX

That's low, 2.5" inches in this weather is brave.

MGM, patience hun, this weather sucks, but all you can do is take your time. I'm surprised that the waterloo region didn't get it as bad as TO, ah well, I'm lovin it. Makes for good skiing conditions!

I caused Traffic at DVP near Eglinton Exit yesterday morning around 8:30am when my car stalled in the third lane. The Salt Trucks (3) has to wait till my car was pulled-over (Tow Truck) until they can continue clearing the snow.

Sorry for the drivers that got affected by this chaos.

Conditions are pretty bad downtown. My usual 20 minute reverse commute took well over 1.5 hours today. At one intersection, it took me 20 minutes to move a distace of about 10m. Not looking forward to the drive back later tonight, or tommorow's morning commute.

driving was nuts.. going south was much easier than going north.. mt plesant was RAMMED nortbound from south of bloor all the way to st clair.. cabbie's engine was smoking and 3 cars (bimmer 3 series.. toyota sienna and a jetta i think) were all sideways on a 45 degree andgle trying to make it up the hill.. there was another 2-3 car collision in there too.. i imagine the people going northbound on mt pleasant added 2-3 hrs to their commute easily..

As I said in another post... idiots who can't drive up a hill should stay the hell off the roads!!

This is what winter tires are made for. There is no excuse. If you choose not to get them, you should choose to stay out of people's way on days like today.

What sort of retard can afford a car like that and not be able to put winter tires on it???
