Possible Photo Thief on M3F

I dont really know how I came across this page but one photo struck my eye, I knew I saw it somewhere and found out it was in facts MKs pic.
I wouldn't be surprised if this guy has stolen a bunch pics and passing them off as his work.

nonetheless, i have pm'd the mod who closed the thread, not to disagree with closing it, that thread was heading out of hand, but rather to suggest that members of his board, and more importantly the moderator team, should understand that significance of this issue, It is a great deal larger than the scope they seemed to grasp from it.

I supported our members, and noted that we spoke sternly, however no attacks were made. and in fact the thread didn't deteriorate until the whole NJ crew decided to come in and flame.

i await a response.

As a photographer who has had his pictures stolen, trust me, consulting a lawyer would be a waste of time... I had my pictures stolen from a company and it still wasn't worth my time..

Swearing and insulting is not needed, i don't know what brought on this comment and I don't feel like reading it. RR I agree with you that an argument is Highschool material, but everyone being civil could have been the easiest answer. MK confront, he apologize, they work out some sort of agreement (either ok the pic or not) and thats it. So its taken care of now.

The thread never got out of hand, it certainly was on that track.

I posted in it trying to defuse it, that didn't seem to work so i sat out the rest, and i pm'd the mod, and we straightened somethings out.

i pointed out to Jim (mod in that thread) that there were some stern words, but that it didn't reach an unacceptable level.

however, i concede that i tend to agree with him, that a PM to the offender may have been a good start, nonetheless, i understand that MK wanted to give him some bad press, and i think that it is good to let people know the guys character, despite his huge post count.

I also have noted in my time here an anomisity between the M3F board and this one. Is there some event that happened before i came on here?

I partly PM'd Jim, to start a good-natured and friendly relationship between the two of us. This was a sucess, we seem to have an understanding

some are saying is should be left off the forums. I tend to agree with you, that is is a big deal, and it should be posted. However, i think some disagreed with the tone of the thread. Certainly there was a negative tone.

I think the tone got nastier, when it wasn't acknowledged that this was a big deal. And I understand.

Nonetheless, a PM to start and a negative report were an option, mind you less would see it.

I don't think anything major happened, in the thread on M3F. I don't think the admin team at M3F can do anything about his use of the picture without permission, as he is not officially affiliated, which leaves legal action as the only course remaining. I am pretty sure that MK in not interested in that, so him taking the pic down is a suitable alternative. Though i think an appology should have been given, not simply calling it an honest mistake.

However, what can u expect from someone with a poor character, if they are willing to steal a picture and use it for benefit, then it is not a surprise that they are not willing to appologize and own up to it.

first let me start by talking about what i posted in that thread



there has been no trouble stired, just question as to what that picture is doing on his site without permission, a fair question, at least IMO.

This is not a statement that was supposed to lead to the degredation of that thread, it was supposed to get back on the topic of the question about the use of the picture without permission. While at the same time offering some support to members of our club (who often have little support on M3F). Part of the job of mod/admin/committee is to support the club and its members, and to be involved in between board discussions.

patrique, offerered nothing but explanations in that thread, he was not confrontational. Ami, voiced his concern, and then was totally professional. Brando, stated that he didn't think that was cool for an official affiliate to do (It was thought he was an affiliate at that time). I think those are fair comments. They first to respond to the thread, never acknowledged that there was an issue that contributed to the negative tone in the thread, certainly the slew of TM3 members didn't help in that regard. I was not in this orginal slew of members.

This situation is totally different than our situation before, this had to do with stolen intellectual propertyl ours was a personal dispute i believe.

I did agree, that a PM would have not been bad starting point. At the same time, i said i understand why starting a thread so that it can be viewed by others was an understandable and i feel in this case an acceptable move.

about the TM3 vs. M3F bad blood. That is precisely why i pm'd Jim, so that we could ensure that this doesn't impact on our clubs relationships. As well, I wanted him to know that there is a perception that M3F members do not like us, that way he can be more pre-emptive in moderating.


I am more than happy to practice what i preach, and feel that i acted more than responsibly in this matter.
