Back

I wish the back was just a bit lower.

I've been debating my eventual plans for either H-Techs or ProKits. Look at it this way, you'll have less chance of rubbing in the rear (where it happens the most). I can't wait to see some more pictures when your summer's are on. How's the ride?

I don't notice any difference really, but the front did scrape the ground once already when I went out this ramp. I think they're pretty good, I have a 12 inch sub in the back so it's actually a bit lower then it's suppose to be.
The front is lower then pro-kits but not the back.

Just a heads up. For sure your car will soon have no more gap in the front. And the rear will be slightly lower. Let the spring settle and then the springs will sag.

Are the springs already settled since they were used for 7 months already?

Probably, if they didn't settle after 7 months with 2 tons on them, they never will, lol.

I'm getting my H-Techs later this week or early next week (:

LOL, in a way I kinda hope so. It's low enough for me cause I plan to have them on both winter and summer.

Yeah the winters don't show the true drop. Just wait till you throw on your summer rims then you'll see the difference.

Yea, I got them done at Motor workshop. It took much longer then I expected though, it took them 2.5 hrs before he called me.

Did you have to pay for 2.5hrs of labour? I've seen guys on M3F that said it takes less than an hour..

Vincent charged me $120, i think it's same as everyone else thats got it done there.

I got my springs installed at Motor Workshop also. They did mine in less then an hour. The drop is not as low as some other springs but the drop is good enough for me. I love the H-Techs.

I've had H-techs on my 05 hatch since last september. Recently i've noticed some rubbing in the front when making sharp turns. I'm currently using a winter tire setup. 205-55-16.

Anyone else have the same issue?

Well the fact that the tread is a bit taller on the snow tires might be the culprit.

I got the same problem . My springs (h-techs) were installed exactly 1 year ago

Some ppl like the softer ride. ;)

Kevin@nextmod

I know......I have nothing against that. I'm beginning to miss the softer ride.
Too bad theres no perfect. Softer ride means softer springs, if you have stock shocks i mean.

I wonder if I'll run into problems with the h-techs, I'm planning to keep them on for 3 years. I know flippy told me he's had no problem with his s-techs except for some camber wear.

S-Techs are a decent amount stiffer for the drop.

*from mazda 3 forums

TEIN SPRINGS

H-Tech
Drop: 1.4" front 0.9" rear
Spring Rate: (F) 150 (R) 220

S-Tech
Drop: 2.0" front 1.5" rear
Spring Rate: (F) 160 (R) 240

EIBACH

Prokit
Drop: 1.2" front 1.2" rear
Spring Rate: (F) 160 (R) 171

Sportline
Drop: 1.8" front 1.8" rear
Spring Rate: (F) 97 - 280 (R) 114 - 303

Who put your springs in? Is it possible they cut down your bump stops a little?

sp3GT
02-28-2007, 07:43 PM
I think I read on Mazda 3 forums that for H-techs your not suppose to cut the bump stops.

I never realized the spring rate on the rear for the pro-kits is that big of a difference to the H/S-techs.

3GFX
02-28-2007, 07:59 PM
It would explain why some people with pro-kits have rubbing problems. But then again, how much weight is really on the rear of the car (unless you have a hatch).

sp3GT
02-28-2007, 08:10 PM
I'm kinda glad I didn't get pro-kit cause I move a lot of stuff in and out from London. I remeber when I had stock springs before, I had so much weight in the back it looks the same as having h-techs on, lol.

I've got the springs on for about 10 days now, the front of the car seems it got lower. But my springs were already used for 7months, is that normal? Are the springs sagging?

Kevin@nextmod
03-06-2007, 07:28 PM
Too late.....I told you.. I've been thru those springs before and they sucked. there gonna get lower until you'll have no gap in the front.

sp3GT
03-06-2007, 07:34 PM
They don't get too excessively low right? I need them to last me 3 years.

Chuckie

I want my springs to last 3 years too..
thats why i bought new prokits.
sagging will happen, i figure thats the best way the springs might last that long.

good luck with yours though

Kevin@nextmod

no worries. You won't bottom out or anything. It'll stop sagging up to a point. And as for prokits? Eibach offers life time warranty man.

Too late for me to regret now, I dunno how some of you with cars that are lower then mine drive in winter. My fronts been scraping a lot of stuff. =(

i've read the warranty card.. says warranty void if car is modified.

I read on the sponsors that Tires 23 has the Eibach camber kit for $200, do I need it rolling on H-techs?
