Hello gentlemen and ladies!
First of all, I bought my first new car.
2007 Mazda 3 GT Sport (Black Mica)
I bought it from Mazda of Toronto who treated me very well and very professionally. I'm 30, but still get asked for my ID at times at the LCBO (lol). Dealers usually treat me like crap, because they think I'm some young punk who's dreaming. The salesman (David) and Jeff (who you all know! :) treated me with class and respect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The car is nice. Now to compare it to my old cars, let me do a role call:
1)83 Mercury Lynx
2)87 Toyota Camry
3)90 Honda Accord
4)89 Honda Civic
5)87 Honda Civic
6)91 Honda Civic
7)96 Honda Civic
8)99 Subaru Impreza RS (Rally Blue, Gold rims..... i miss that car!)
9)92 Nissan 240SX (rear drive...sweet!)
10)2007 Mazda 3 GT
I was considering a few other cars...(Yaris, Matrix, Fit)... I did end up financing, but to put things into perspective, the Lease payments on the Fit were $20 more per month! The 3 is much more of a drivers car then the Yaris, Matrix, or Fit. The rates are great on the Mazda!
Since it's my first new car, it's a little unfair. The car is beautiful and drives super smooth and straight. It handles like it's literally on rails. It cannot compare to the rear drive driving dynamics of the 240, nor to the torque and AWD dynamics of the Subaru. None the less, Subaru's are too pricey, and they don't make 240's anymore. There aren’t even any rear drive cars worth buying in North America (unless you pay 40k+).
I was glad to meet Jeff at Mazda of Toronto. He's a true enthusiast. He actually OWNS 2 Mazda 3's. This reassures me. It shows that it isn't something he just sells, but he would buy a Mazda 3 himself!
Both David and Jeff at Mazda of Toronto went out of their way for me... which I appreciated.
I'll post some pics later (the car is hiding from the weather... :)
I'm happy to be a Mazda Owner. Hope to meet some of the crew later on.
Take care,
Michael
