Void warranty? It depends, let's say you put a Compustar starter/alarm in your car. Bad install causes a fire and all your harnesses are cooked. WARRANTY VOIDED

Mazda remote starter for auto tranny's only will not void your warranty.

Well i did install a compustar remote starter from lockdown securities. Good job, but just wanted to know if my warrenty was voided. So as long as the install was fine... i should be fine?

In other words, if a problem occurs from a bad install of the remote starter, warrenty = voided. However, if it's not from the install, and some other problem occurs, warrenty still valid?

ScEv - that's right, if a problem occurs that is related to the after market part, or install, warranty would not cover. All other items, warranty would still cover.

Didn't want to start a new thread so i guess this will do.... I never had a/s before and got a few noob questions. its for pro2fmas

1) Can heavy rain/snow trigger the alarm?
2) For those with manual trans remote starting, when pulling the hand brake up for reservation mode , is it normal to keep hearing the clicking sound while idling?
3) whats the purpose of the tapping of the windshield thingy and pages my remote. i know i can unlock it by tapping but i dont understand the "calling me from the car" feature.
4) Can i lock the car without arming the alarm?

Yes, i realize these are questions i should have askded before leaving the shop but never having an alarm before i didnt know what to ask. Thanks.

1) Yes, depending on the sensitivity of your shock sensor heavy RAIN could trigger the alarm...I really can't see how the snow could do it, since even in a snow storm it accumulates rather gradually
2) Yes, it is normal.
3) The pager is most commonly used in europe/asia where ppl have to often double park and block eachother. The pager allows ppl to page you rather than pushing your car around with their bumpers.
4) Yes. Just use your key/stock remote.
