What kind of music do you like or dislike?
I was in the same boat when filling up the ipod.
If you like rock music, the edge has lots of year end album and song charts http://www.edge.ca/charts/year_end_charts.cfm

Download the red hot chili peppers discography, lot's of great tunes. Sublime, for a more ska flavour, and goldfinger for punk/ska.

Nirvana, Radiohead, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bloc Party, David Usher, Sloan (support them Canadian's eh!), Bjork, Blur, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, The Killers, Metric
(I know you asked for "newer stuff" and some of the bands I listed are retired but they are good stuff IMO - hope this thread doesn't turn into band vs)

Finger Eleven just came out with a new album, Them vs. You vs. Me or something like that. City and Colour is coming out (should be out already) with a live album...not sure if you enjoy the acoustic stuff. Some other albums I have in my car right now are:
Alexisonfire - Crisis
Switchfoot - Beautiful Letdown
Thornley - Come Again
Oasis - Stop the Clocks
Blue October - Foiled
Fort Minor - The Rising Tied
Pilate - Self Control for Life's Speed
Staind - 14 Shades of Grey
None of them are really new, but its a nice mixture of style.

Yep. Sloan is part of my "Maritimes Rock" Collection. :chuckle
They have regular yearly shows at the Kee to Bala (Muskoka) in the summer. It's a great cottage atmosphere. I'll probably go again this summer.
