Hey everyone,

I'm new to the province (moved from Vancouver) and new to the forum. We (wife and I) bought an '07 CWP Mazda Sport GT w/ luxo pkg about 3eks ago and we finally brought her home today :bana2 . After test driving a few of it's competitors, it was a no-bainer for me...although she was leaning towards the Civic for awhile.

A bit of my car history . . . the road to the 3, if you will.

First car was back in '95. Was a Red 1990 RX-7. Had it for 5 years and it was a really fun car! Gorgeous rotory motor that I had no problems with. I KNOW...crazy...not a single problem with it and it sounded amazing.

Here is my (old) project car...well, I sold it before coming out here. I'm still mourning the loss! She was a beast! Started out as a 94' 320i...ended up with a 99' M3 motor, 3.91LSD, 3-piece Speedline's, and a ton more go-fast parts. 0-100 in a tick under 5.0s and could run the 1/4 in the high 13's. She could run with the best of them and was a reliable daily driver.

Then, I picked up a 91' Integra GS 2.5yrs ago. Took us across Canada and was a solid A to B car. After driving the BMW, it was certianly a shock to the system, but it did it's job...all the way up till we sold it today!

And now we drive a CWP Mazda 3 that is about 40kms old now. We had to wait for it to come from port in Vancouver and when it arrived it only had 3 kms on it. It'll feel good to know that we drove pretty much every km on her.
Now for some pics:

I never thought I'd drive a white car, but I'm really diggin' this paint on this car. IMHO, it looks great. Steering feel is good. Of course, it's no BMW, but still very good. Taking on and off-ramps at 100+km/h is a breeze and makes merging onto the highway easy. Handles better than any of its competitors, that's for sure. There's enough power to make things entertaining and I'm hoping it'll make my long-ass commute less painful. The car feels more expensive than it was, although, I must say, it wasn't cheap! Haha.

In any case, hope I can come out to a few meets and meet some of you. Although I *think* the modding bug is nowhere near, I know that it doesn't take much to get me back in the game. For now, she's bone stock and will remain that way :chuckle If anything, those rims need to go! Definitely not a fan. Anyways, that's my story.

Cheers,

D

Haha, ya . . . I hear ya. It's not like I dislike it here, but I'd certainly still choose to live back home. So why am I here? My wife is doing her grad studies at Mac.

I moved throughout the Lower Mainland, but was in Kitsilano for the last 3 years. Man, I loved living out there.

So you moved to be with your wife. I can relate since I did the same.

Welcome aboard. For a white car, it doesn't look that bad.

I'm not a huge of the new OEM rims though.

Well welcome aboard, hope you like it here in T.O. I found the people in BC more friendlier than here. The pace here is quite faster than BC

Will admit though that the scenery there is way better and access to the wilderness is a lot better there. Somehow kind of feel that i will eventually retire there.

Better weather there too, just as long as you don't mind rain, right?

Nice Ride, hope you and your wife will make a new home.

WOW that Bimmer must have been such a sleeper. I hope you kept the 320 badges on it when you had the m3 motor under the hood! Welcome btw.

It certainly took more than a few people by surprise! The 320 badges were removed . . . I only left the BMW roundel on.

Welcome to the club

how do you like the weather compare to BC?

Well . . . I was expecting the winter to be much worse than it was. From what people have been saying, it's been a fairly "nice". February was a bit nasty though . . . and I must say, my west coast bones aren't liking the fact that it's the middle of April and we're still flirting with 0 degree temps.

btw - are you the guy to talk to about alarms?

If you mean get back into a BMW . . . trust me, I'm on it. The e90's are awesome cars, but I think I want to get another project car. I never got to finish my last project and so I need some closure :chuckle So I'm thinkin' either of the following will be next: e36 ///M, e46 ///M, or e39 ///M.

On the other hand, if by "come back to the dark side" you didn't mean that . . . than I apologize for my pointless banter.

Thanks for the kind words guys! With the nice weather I think I have a date with clay bar, wax, and polish.
