man this is confusing ..
I don't know what to do, and knowing my self if I put coilovers I will slam that shit to the floor with no respect .. and my car is still brand new ( 15000Km )

I will wait another year for coilovers and might just get sportlines for now

yup..

I dont wanna go ocilover yet, and my S-techs arent gooed enough for me ( back drop )

so I have to choices : sportline or canuck ..

eibach seems better

MidnightSpeed

Yeah it does seem better (eibach). I don't know much about those Canuck Springs either.. even though 1/2 the BC'ers are running them. They are a cheap alternative though.

With TEIN S-Techs
2" on front 1.5" on rear
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r131/us_brats_2/Mazda%20Axela/DSCF0008.jpg
With EIBACH SPORTLINES
2" All Arround, They are softer than the S-techs. Sometimes I miss the stiff response on the corners that I use to get with the Teins
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r131/us_brats_2/2007%20mazda%203%20Sport%20Touring/DSCF2175.jpg
Oh yeah, this time I had to get the Alignment kit for the Back in order to adjust the camber. That 1/2 inch was tilting it to much compared to the S-techs

thanks a lot man !!

thats exactly what I wanted to hear and see ..

TEIN S-techs = very good, stiff but the back drop sucks.
EIBACH = good drop but not as good drive

sorry to get off topic here, but I was pretty sure eibach made camber links for our mazda 3's. I can't seem to find them on their website.

Try searching SPC Camber Links.

BTW, I'm currently looking at the SSC/Canuck Springs. They are pretty much the exact same thing as the Sportlines, and also come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Actually they are both good on drive.
Sportlines have a less harsh ride than S-techs
S-techs Have better spring rate for cornerings than Sportlines

and yes the difference on ride hight

I will be installing 215/40zr18 by thursday with my new wheels. As soo as I get a chance to get a pic of them I will post them. 45s on 17s will hurt you on highway mileage and gas wise. My '05 3, I had IKONs 17 340s with a 42mm Off set Mesh Wheels wrapped Hankook K106 215/45H17 and those where ok. Great for short distance driving do to its smaller circumference. This time I am going for the KONIG Hot Swap 45mm with Falkens. I will loose take off but will be ok on gas..

I have 215/40/17 with 42 offset .. The reason why I dont like them is that there is too much wheel gap ... not enough rubber ..

Anyways I'll see what i'll be doing

If I do buy them, there's a certain vendor here that has them for a good good price.. starts with a C and ends with an A.

For those of you with s-tech's: Is it possible to drive on these springs without camber links and without suffering excessive tire wear? I'm looking at buying a set of these and would like to know the answer.

Thanks

I Agree. You can drive with out the Alignment/Camber kit with any springs. To include Skunk and others. The only thing is that you cut the life of your tires. On my '05 my hankooks started to wear bad at 14000. Thats with the S-Techs. Thats the only reason I recomend the Kit. But yes, you can ride your car with out the kit and if you love attacking corners, that would be another plus to have such camber...

So let me start up this thread again. S.Tech or Pro-Kit? Will S-Tech survive the winter? Is it to low, will I need a camber kit?

Not sure what you asking. S-Techs vs Pro-Kit. This thread is S-Techs Vs Sportlines(TEIN vs EIBACH)

But to answer your question, S-Techs or Sportlines are bad for winter-time unless you have a alignment/Camber kit. You need all that tracktion on the tires at all times on winter time..Summer is when you get to enjoy the camber for cornering....Pro-Kit or H-Techs would be OK, its not a drastic drop like Sportlines or S-Techs

alright, here's my 3, with sportlines. and no rear camber links.
stock camber is +1 degree
camber after 1.8" drop +2 degrees

You WILL survive winter
Just slap on good winter tires (that goes for any case)
Its not a big deal trust me

I've had my STECHS for so long now and TWO winters on them with NO CAMBER KITS and still on STOCK SHOCKS

active3s
06-29-2007, 12:55 PM
Yes, you will survive. But you got less chance of sliding with the H-Techs or Prokit. If you doing S-Techs or sportlines the Camber/Alignment kit will help on less sliding also..

My 3 with Sportlines and Eibach Camber/Alignment Kit

I don't want to slide around, and I live in the country so sometimes drifts on the road can get quite large.

I guess I might not get S-Techs, I would go with pro-kits but I want that slight angle on the car you know? Anyone here anything about H&R Springs? Its 1.3 front 1.2 Rear, so the same as Pro-Kit but a little lower in the front. I don't know what the spring rates are like, I don't want them to be to stiff.

PS: 3sActice your car looks hot hot hot!!!

Your ride screams coilovers man. You really want a stiff ride, and perfect lowering.. do it! Just save up first.

3GFX
06-29-2007, 07:49 PM
Coilovers are to expensive for my blood. I'd love to get some TEIN coil overs with EDFC and adjustable ride height...*drool*...[/dream]

active3s
06-29-2007, 09:21 PM
I got an argument!!
If you want agressive looks but confortable ride:
TEIN H-Techs, Eibach PRO-Kit, H&R, AUTO-EXE, MAZDASPEED
with these you will have a slight more camber on the rear from factory but still within tollerance.

If you want even more drop and even more agressive response.
Any sport class Springs. But they will take you out of the 3s camber tolerance. Will need to install Camber adjustment link to prolong tires life.

Want mad looks, real agressive response, adjustable to almost confortable(You better know how to mess with dampering) and Mad cornering, Go for coil overs..I would suggest this if you are planning to race proffesionaly, you know, Autocrossing, Etc

did you have trouble going up your driveway, after the city cleans the streets and puts snow on your driveway?

Drive-ways was no issue. The only issue was the regular, you know, ice on the subframe. Harder to clean under the vehicle and its drivetrain to remove salts due to its clearance. Specially on the front....

k cool... then i will wait for the first snow storm + first winter car wash before I decide not to get rid of these.

thanks man!
