Jays are 3-2 to start the season, and sitting in First Place in the AL east. I'm heading to the home opener tonight.

Hopefully it's homerun galore for the Blue birds.

I will be watching them on April 17th against the BO'SOX.

a great game for the Jays. Absolutely destroyed the Royals. Funniest part of the night, was a guy wearing an Islanders jersey getting booed mercilessly with chants of "take it off".
Oh and the wave going around 4 times without stopping in the 500's.

Not bad tonight. considering we don't have Glaus, Johnson, and Ryan to close it out now that it's 2-1 in the 8th and of course we faced Dice-K for about 7 innings.

Lets hope we can close this out. =)

+1 for blue jays meet..
if they do anymore of the $2 dollar tickets, I'll jump on them and treat like 20 of you guys to a game. I wanted to but the thing is all the 200 level tickets were gone and I didn't want to sit in the 500 level when it's really cold.

edit: BLUE JAYS WIN!!! good job to frasor for the save

I think every Tuesday is a $2 game. Also, the 500's aren't cold because they close the dome, when it's chilly out.

Very good game pitched by Chacin. Pitched almost 7 innings, and threw less than 100 pitches.

Realistically the Jay's just don't have the pitching power behind Halladay to make an impact this season. If we had Marcum back it would be different.

HUGE props to Snider for the very impressive start to his career. No wonder he was the top prospect he's very aggressive and knows how to play at an elite level. Hopefully he can keep up the momentum as we've had some serious issues in the offense department in recent seasons.

The Jays got to get rid of BJ Ryan. He's not the closer he once was. Bottom of 9, with two outs, he loads the bases (I think all on walks), and then serves up a bases clearing double to DeRosa.. Lucky the Jays were up 5-1 at that point..and now it's Frasor in trying to close it up with a 5-4 score..

He'll win it if he can stay consistent, and if Gaston plays him often.

They will bottom out eventually. 4 of our 6 wins so far are comebackers. I don't know how long they can pull that off for.

But Snider gets my vote for ROY. MAN that kid can hit for power!

Having them comeback like that in those games doesn't show that they'll faulter, it shows they have resilience and a "never say die" attitude. Those come from behind wins have mostly came in the 7-8th inning and a few were huge run outbursts.

On a side note, they've already hit 4 HRs in the first 3 innings in tonights game. What a showing!

Not to mention getting blown out 3 times this season..twice against the Indians (I think).

Biggest disappointment in my eyes is Chien-Ming Wang. 34.something ERA? That's unacceptable!! I'm also disappointed because I have him in 3 of my 4 pools.. what a bust!

As for the Jays..Rios and Wells need to start producing like they should be in the 3 and 4 spot in the batting order. It's great to see Scutaro and Hill producing, but that's not their jobs!!

Blue Jays Shake Up Roster:

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled pitcher Casey Janssen and utility infielder Joe Inglett effective today. The club announced it will also recall rookie right-hander Ricky Romero in time to make his scheduled start next Tuesday.

The move comes a day after slumping outfielder Travis Snider was sent down (http://thestar.blogs.com/baseball/2009/05/axe-finally-falls-on-snider.html) to Triple-A Las Vegas. The club also announced today that rookie pitchers Brett Cecil and Robert Ray, both of whom were roughed up during the club's three-game sweep at the hands of the Boston Red Sox, have been optioned to the Pacific Coast League team.

Nah, BJs just want to see what they have in all the players before moving a piece or two to get some help, if needed. Getting swept by the BoSox in Bean Town was tough to watch, but you have to give them credit, the BoSox have the best record in baseball at home. With the Yankees winning 9 straight now, making things very interesting. We hold a half game lead on the BoSox on one full game lead on the Yankees.

More like a lucky play.

My friend and I was debating if Cito made the right move by pinch-hitting Halladay. He says that cost the game for the Jays and Cito made a STUPID decision and was quite adamant about it. I was saying that Cito made the right decision cuz you can't really know how it was going to play out with Carlson giving up that run and that he wouldn't have been saying that if Inglett had brought in a run. What do you guys think of Cito's move good or bad?

overall Carlson has been solid. Besides, who would you rather he put out there? BJ Ryan? Jason Frasor?

Carlson is a minor leaguer as Eckersley referred to him as during the Boston series. He didn't know who Carlson was and referred to him as a life time minor leaguer. That says it all.

Life time minor leaguer? Last year he was 7-2 with a 2.25 ERA over 70 appearances. Eckersley didn't know who he was because he didn't do his research. Carlson has been struggling because he's being overused.

And S.F.W, Frasor pitched 2 solid innings after Carlson was pulled. Frasor has been pitching well, only allowing runs in 2 of his 20 appearances.

Hope the Jays can bounce back...the important thing is that they are only 1.5 games out despite the terrible road trip.

Question is, are the blue jays playoff material? I'm pessimistic and would say they have any outside chance of making the playoffs. However, the pitching staff is way too hot or cold.

If they lose tonight, I might as well not go to the game on Friday.

Wells is really heating up. Which is nice to see because he has been mediocre at best for most of the season. Jays have had a lot of chances to cash more runs tonight. Hopefully their lead is good enough to give them the win. Looks like Boston is going to win another one so that kinda sucks but the yankees are tied at the moment... hopefully they lose so that the jays can get back into the wildcard spot and try to at least hold that position.

Well it's a good thing they won so you can still go to the game. :)

Typically about 3 hours. But could go longer or shorter, depends on pace.

Don't get too pumped, its just the blue jays.

Hope they give you a good showing on Friday though. Way more enjoyable when they win.

Going Sunday, got seats right behind home plate third row? Do I get free peanuts with that?!?!?!

I dunno about peanuts, but you might get your view blocked by some clowns dressed as umpires.

BJs = Blue Jays!

As on the Star:

Q: The Blue Jays remind of Britney Spears... inconsistent, prone to major mental breakdowns, and nothing but a tease.

Zaki Ameen, Mississauga

A: Apparently many of the Jays are big fans of Ms. Spears. Here are some Jays and their top Britney songs:

Alex Rios: Oops, I Did it Again

J.P. Ricciardi: Circus or his second fave Chaotic

Roy Halladay: Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know

B.J. Ryan: Outrageous

Vernon Wells: Overprotected or his second fave (You Drive Me) Crazy.
