Looking for an audio input for a stock head unit.
The iPod interface that Mazda sells isn't what I'm looking for.
Just a plain old audio RCA or 3.5mm jack input would work well.
Or and iPod interface that ALLOWS control of the iPod.
Sent an email to Lockdown but thought I would ask the board as well.
Suggestions?

I bought the auxmod basic by sylfex a few month ago and i have no regrets whatsoever.
it plugs into the "tape/md" expansion slot in the botom of the deck. it tricks the stereo into thinking that theres a tapedeck there. its function is flawless, just press the "tape/md" button and feed whatever you want into ot. the unit has a 3.5mm streo jack.
shipping cost was what was advertised on their website www.sylfex.com . i evded up having to pay ~15 in duties at the post office. shipping was fast as well.
my only complaint about this unit is it does have a break in period. forst the first 10 or so hours of use it just sounds harsh but after that i would say that the sound quality from a good sourse is easially comperable or better than the the cd deck. the onlything that you will need to do if you are powering the device that you are hooking up to it through the cars power you will either need a ground loop isolator or an isolated DC/DC converter.

It is very important for car fans to enjoy the best fidelity audio. Through
ipod adapter is certainly a good solution. the ipod adapter can connect the HU with ipod. Then , how to control the music, depend on you . you can control it by ipod , SW, or CD Charger buton. Also , you can watch video in
your cai if your ipod version is video.

Using Audiolink, there are some discount codes that you can scoop from other Mazda 3 forums and stuff that will give you 15 dollars off and free shipping.
I like how it has an ipod adapter + 1/8' jack for other digital (main reason for buying it).
