When I go to Ctire to get some supplies (car cleaning), I'll see if I can find some thick Aluminum caps. I've got a mill/lathe at work and I'll experiment sometime after hours.

Well I think we have some stock of Aluminum stock kicking it, may just snag a chunk.
Once I get the car, I'll do some blanks using Delron plastic (easy to work with) and go from there.
