Well I was exiting out of Bamburgh Plaza, (almost didn't complete a full stop at the stop sign) and noticed a MTP cruiser to my right. So I came to a full stop, and proceeded to go home. I noticed in the back of my rear view that the cruiser decides to do a U-turn and pull me over.

As normal, passed the officer, proof of insurance, ownership and license. I asked the officers why they pulled me over and they told me, 'because of the recent break-ins of Mazda3s', they're doing more random stops to make sure the vehicle isn't stolen. They also told me that, they are paying more special attention to parked mazda3s in lots now due to the increase in theft.

In the back of my mind I was thinking, I was gonna get pulled over for the exhaust or the HIDs, but looks like it wasn't the case. =D

And for those wondering, I asked the officers if DRLs are required by law, they said no, at least not in Durham and Toronto Region.

Well it's good to know that some officers are looking out for us.

It's good it's bad, getting pulled over by a cop for no reason is just annoying.

From what I understand, the biggest problem is just break-ins because the crooks have a much harder time taking cars with immobilizers on them. I can't stand getting pulled over for no reason. I swear they just see young guys in cars and want to hassel them some times.

Yeah a lot of us west coast guys have been hit - no one actually had their car stolen, just B&E via the infamous door vulnerability.

I know a few MTP guys drive 3's so maybe this could be one of the reasons?

At least we don't drive Hondas/Acuras. All it takes is a good flat head screwdriver and you got yourself a rice ride.:chuckle

Don't remind me, my first car was an Acura, and that's how someone broke into it.

We'd prefer not to disclose that information on this site as we don't want it spreading more than it has.

I wonder if they've actually caught someone stealing a Mazda 3.
